She's as unqualified as the current President for slightly different reasons. For Trump, it's sheer stupidity, for AOC, it's idealism and niaveness.

AOC has no business running for President.

Ugh so now we need a constitutional amendment to lower to age to run for president to 29? What's next, 18? She got to wait before she can run. Dems need to find older candidate.

In every 2020 poll, AOC isn’t even mentioned. Partly because she cannot run yet. Mostly because she’s not viewed as a serious candidate yet, and most left leaning Dems prefer running a field containing Beto, Biden, Harris, Warren, etc. probably in that order too.

AOC is only really obsessed about with the right who cannot stop tweeting or creating threads about her on online forums.

FYI - her one big policy proposition, the Green New Deal, while lacking the specifics needed, is the kind of bold forward thinking policy ambitions we should be striving for. Yeah... she’s Naive but she’s going to be pushing the party in the right direction for the next 15 years if she’s pushing these great policy ideas.

Maybe starting another dozen threads will finally convince people that Vox isn’t a joke source. I trust that you’ll put in the work.

    Good response:

    https://www.newsweek.com/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-twitter-quotes-president-aoc-1256814

But, responding on Twitter, Ocasio-Cortez knocked the suggestion back.

“How about... no,” she wrote. “Sometimes political media is too fixated on personalities instead of policies. The whole country JUST went through an exhausting midterm election. We need a break.

“Can we instead talk about healthcare, a living wage, legalizing cannabis, GND [Green New Deal], & other issues?”

Calls out people using Vox as a source, hours after using Vox as a source.

It’s a bold strategy. Let’s see how it plays out.

The age limit is comical in my book. The arbitrary 35 years old cut off is hilariously looked upon as a decent metric, but when push comes to shove one side always preaches how one candidate is unqualified when said candidate is on the other side. Hell, even when you meet said qualifications they b****, look at the Obama birth certificate movement.

The one advantage I see in younger candidates is this: they have shorter political careers so their allegiance to specials interests might also be weaker. Emphasis on might. It warrants analysis to say the least, but God bless us we won't be smart enough to actually think about it.

Yeah, one has to remember there are a lot of websites and a lot of magazines, and a lot of opinionated people writing stupid articles to fill them.

OP seems to be into finding whatever article leaves the right shaking its collective head and posting it. This isn't even an issue. Constitution says she can't run anyway, and next to no one would say she's qualified. And why does the right waste so much time thinking about her?

The funny thing is if AOC had the exact same experience but was the lead figure in the Obama birther movement for multiple years and decided to go down a magic escalator and say generic easy red meat rhetoric about building a wall and how most illegals are rapists and murderers, she would be a favorite for a GOP nomination if there was no age restriction.

Is this an opinion piece or is it from the Vox editorial board?

All she has to do is switch parties and she's good.

Eugenics, Nazis, hate speech, all great plays to run. Just repackage it as restoring America to it's foundational values and you got yourself a campaign. Look, I don't want to characterize this as the republican party at large, but when they keep electing people on these merits and echoing these sentiments it gets harder and harder to defend that half of this country.

Age and wisdom don't always have a linear correlation, and the issue is, we assume they do. It's a glaring assumption to say the least.
