Give him some credit. Took him two years to go from I never knew cat 5 existed to I knew they exist. A little bit slow but come on, give the man a break.... a good one in 2020.

I love the funny headlines on FARC -- tremendously humorous!

Eh, it's fun to poke fun, but it's really just a form of hyperbolic speech to emphasize the power of these hurricanes. He does this all the time with his simplistic rhetoric where everything is the best or the worst, the biggest, or most whatever. It's annoying in general and sometimes misleading and dangerous. This example with hurricanes is probably the most benign I can think of. He should be reproached, not for not knowing about Cat 5 hurricanes because obviously he does, but for engaging in hyperbolic speech for every damn thing. There are people who really think NAFTA really was the worst trade deal of all time, that the Iran nuclear deal was the worst disarmament deal of all time, Puerto Rico has the most corrupt government, that everybody is taking advantage of us, that everybody is cheating while we obey the rules, that world leaders are all laughing at us. He should behave more responsibly with every word that comes out of his mouth, and the hurricane thing is only a tiny example of that.

This would be okay for you or me. We are talking about the leader of the free world. Well, we used to be...

He sent his tweet about Alabama on September 1. Had he sent it on August 29, he could justify it. The track he showed in the video was from the 29th. Here is the track on the evening of August 31. Clearly no threat to Alabama when he sent out his tweet.

    Trump is awesome.

He can literally do whatever he wants and he completely gets away with.... and half the people defend him.

He should pick up a spoon and call it a “penis flute” and insist that the word was never “spoon” and insist that all books and the internet call it “penis flute”.

That sounds like something Trump would do and it would be awesome hearing half the people claim they have never heard of a “spoon” and it has always been called a “penis flute”.

Interestingly enough, Trump received $17 million in insurance payments for a series of hurricanes that damaged Mar A Largo in 2004-2005. Wilma was a category 5.

    No, just ****ing no.

He is putting out misinformation that can get people killed. I would think people who have been through similar situations recently would know how dangerous that is.

How would it get people killed? Because they are led to over-estimate the power of the storm?

I don't know, Juan...General Panic? Rushes for supplies? Rushing to get out of town? Hoarding supplies that should be diverted to actual people in need? Making first responders stay closer to home instead of mobilizing to travel? Like I said...I don't know.

This really cannot be real, can it? We did not have anyone in the White House altering a NOAA map with a sharpie. Kirbe, please no. Please.

    Two ways for you.
    1. Old guys get worried about storm in southern Alabama, could put selves in dangerous positions just trying to storm-proof their homes. Two old guys just died in Florida preparing for Dorian, falling off ladders and dumb crap like that. So, you don't want to worry people unnecessarily.
    2. As we know in Texas, after a few dire warnings that don't materialize, people take the next warnings less seriously. So people can die if they don't evacuate in the future storms b/c of stupid leaders modifying maps with sharpies to satisfy their own petty insecurities.
