There honestly isn't too much to like about the Texans right now. And it starts at the top with the ownership. I just don't care to root for another team.
Never really was at any point. Ive disliked the franchise since they drafted David Carr. I live in Houston though so I'll follow from time to time. The last few years I've learned to appreciate the sport as a whole and find myself entertained more by watching other teams.
I was born and raised in Houston. I'm a fan of all my hometown teams. Oilers and now Texans. There is no other reason for me.
I ask myself that question almost every Sunday in season and every off season. I grew up a Warren Moon era Oilers fan. Was so heartbroken when they left and was so pumped when we got the franchise. After the DHop trade, I told myself that was it...was never rooting for or watching the team again. And sure enough, subjected myself to another painful 16 Sundays watching us implode. I think Easterby is a snake, Cal is a simpleton trust fund moron and the team will win 1 to 2 games this year. I won't go to a game but I bet I end up watching them again. Civic pride I guess...they are our team...even though they are the worst run franchise in the NFL and make the Jets look good. Hate them but still end up rooting for them, supporting them. But they won't get a dollar of my money.
Living in Nashville and starting a successful business you would think I would be a grateful Titans fan, I been to Nissan stadium over ten times to watch games including one where I won a free suite package, my own suite (sponsored by pinnacle bank) including catered food, on field pregame tour and limousine travel pickup and drop off for myself and 3 others ...but the Titans don’t catch my heart and soul even when I tried having said that I lived most of my life still in the Houston area...it was because of Houston sports I met my wife, my kids were born in Houston. I grew up as a kid in Huntsville...they are woeful but I can’t help but be a Texans fan still and hope for a beautiful omelette out of the broken eggs by the coming season..
