This morning at 6:51 my Yahoo mail account sent a spam e-mail to all of my contacts. Has anyone else had this problem? There have not been any more "spam" e-mails sent since, but it's a major problem and I don't want my contacts getting this crap from me.
Seriously, I left hotmail for gmail... I logged into my hotmail account once and it was a mess. I didn't even know how to navigate around hotmail. Gmail is so much easier to use.
This has nothing to do with gmail vs. yahoo mail. Change your password to something with letters and numbers in it (and longer than 6 characters) and check for malware on your computer.
Your password has been stolen. I would change your password on all of your accounts. Will we are talking about gmail. One nice feature is that you can check who has logged onto your gmail account based on IP address.
Change your password and check your computer for a keylogger. My gmail got hacked after I logged into my account at my Dad's house the other day. I got a notification of suspicious activity from Google and I saw that my account had spammed all of my contacts but luckily none of the emails went through. I checked my account activity and saw that somebody in Iceland had logged into my account.
Click the details link of the last account activity. You will see it below you are currently using x amount of your x amount.
No I use Windows 7 on a custom built PC. I've done extensive research on this since I started this thread, and it could be that I opened a spam e-mail, others have reported that this only happens when they've recently opened spam. Thanks for the replies everyone.
