If these were the only two options, which would you rather have happen?

Losing to the Red Sox would be sad, but pales in comparison to what losing to the Dodgers would be like. Not only would obnoxious LA fans be rubbing it in for the entire offseason, and possibly forever, but the media would be talking about the cheating scandal through the entirety of the WS. Once the series is over, there would be so many stories about how the Astros got what they deserved by losing, how they couldn't win it playing fair, and scolding the organization/players again.

The sad part is is that the Dodgers are superior to the Astros and it would need to be a pretty big upset for the Astros to beat them.

Let’s not worry about that and just enjoy the ride.

Always take the shot in the WS. You never know what will happen.
I’ll take my chances against the Dodgers.
If we lose….we still hang the AL banner

One of the few times I understand where @TheRealist137 is coming from. I hate the Dodgers and its fanbase moreso than the Yankees, the Jazz, the Lakers, the Warriors and its respective fanbases. That being said, getting to the World Series is still getting to the World Series. If we had to lose to a superior team like the Dodgers, so be it but losing in the ALCS to a very beatable team would be more dissapointing.

    wtf.

...if anything just continue an Astro tradition and get knocked out by the Braves but this time by Charlie Morton instead of Maddux, Smoltz, and Glavine

I’d rather this thread get locked.

CF should take a look at having some sort of measure/limitation on thread posting. Several newly posted threads are just subtopics that could be posed as posts in other threads.

Yikes, talk about being a pessimistic mindset….

You don’t fail when you lose, you fail when you quit!

MLB is down to 4 team, they are all winners, but only one will prevail. And I guarantee that not one of the winners are contemplating losing.

For loser talk, Las Vegas probably has the best formulas to determine who’s gonna have the favorite odds.

Astros and Dodger are both fighting for their stake as this era’s Dynasty. It will be exciting if both can get there.

Here is my dream scenario: Astros sweep Boston. Cora congratulates Astros and says Tony Larruso is a Piece of sh**. Astros and Dodgers have 7 extra inning games. Correa hits a grand slam off of Joe Kelly in the top of the 10th inning and pouts at him as he rounds the bases. Kelly charges Correa who then decks him with one shot to the chin and trots home. Dusty brings Raley in and he strikes out the side. F*** the Dodgers, F*** Joe Kelly, and F*** the guy that started this thread.

The Astros got swept by the White Sox in 2005 but I still look at that year fondly.

Even last year, I wish the Astros won Game 7 of the WS despite having to face the Dodgers

Considering I would make a grand if the Stros make it to the world series, my answer should be obvious.

Would you have rather had the Yankees beat the Astros in 2019?

    No.... Case closed then

    Bye Felicia!

If winning it all is not an option I would rather lose right now than give the Dodgers any further ammunition about 2017.

On the other hand, beating the Dodgers again in the WS would be redeeming and satisfying.

OP you shouldn't worry about the perception if we lose to them. Only potato fans will go on about cheating as we haven't made 5 straight alcs.

It's weird that someone wouldn't want to see their team make a World Series because they are worried about bad stories being written about them.

    Is this a serious question?

the goal is to advance as far as possible every year. Give me a WS loss over an LCS loss.
