More of the "luck" that so often befells Houston sports fans.

Still chuckling over the TT fans in here who said Durant was coming here.

sorry but this is a stupid thread.
First free agency hasn't finished yet.
Secondly next years draft is 10 times better than this one was. Simmons and Ingram would barely get into the top 10 of nexts years draft.

    So what's your point again?

agreed except for the simmons and ingram part. they are easily better prospects than any of next years draft.

You're 100% incorrect. Next year's draft class is the best since 96. It has legitimate studs. The incoming college freshman class is the best ever.

um, i agreed with that part. simmons and ingram would still go 1 and 2 in next year's draft class though. as for everyone else, giles, tatum, etc. would be better than anyone in this year's draft.

    No, they wouldnt.

Simmons? Maybe because for his size, but not Ingram.

I'll give you Ingram and I personally haven't been impressed with Simmons that much. Their skillsets are incredible and rare for their size though.

The two best prospects in next year's draft are probably Giles and Jackson. However, Giles is coming off 2 ACL tears, and Jackson so far looks like a Wiggins/Iggy type player to me (and he's basically a year older than most of the other prospects). Don't really see how they're better prospects than Simmons.

This is probably all pointless to conjecture about anyways and we can agree to disagree. These guys haven't even played a college game yet, so it could all change.

what does it matter if Simmons specifically would be a top prospect in next years draft?

What matters is that next years draft is tons better and deeper than this years and if we are lottery we have much more chances of getting a good player than this year if we were lottery.

Also wow there's someone coming off 2 ACL injuries? At such a young age?

Far too many people on here deluded themselves into thinking we had a shot.

Absolutely not true at all. They would still be Top 5 at least. 2017 class is deep no doubt but Simmons and Ingram would still be top players among Tatum, Giles, Jackson, Smith etc.

Having a shot at Durant and thinking him coming here are two different things.

I don't think it's crazy to think we had a shot. He is good friends with Harden.

I think MOST if not all people were under the impression he wasn't coming, but it's not crazy to have hope or think we had a shot.

Yes...because him being friends with Harden overshadows his drive to win and make $$$.

    Just wow.
