Wii Preorders at EB/GS starting on Friday

    So I called my GS yesterday to confirm the preorder. they said it was today and they were opening at 9. I could not get off work but my wife could. She got there at 8:45 and got in line. A guy shows up about 8:55 and says line up here we open at 10:00. My wife called not real happy with me, because she thinks I told her the wrong time on purpose. Anyway, she was 6 in line and they had 15 so I'll have a Wii on launch day, but I may not have any games to go with it :) I'm also going to have to be real nice to my wife for the weekend.

    I got mine preordered, oddly enough our store had more ps3s than wiis (16 to 14). it sold out literally before they opened the store.
    anywho, I preordered my wii + an extra wiimote / nunchaku attachment (for the girlfriend), and zelda.
    I was being told it's a good idea to preorder the wiimotes etc cus there's a good chance they could sell out of them, just a warning for those buying.

    and for some humor:
    there were 16 people in line for 14 wiis. the 14th person in line was the assistant manager (wearing plain clothes, so no one knew). not realizing this, the 15th person (older man in his 40-50s I guess, standing in line for his kid) yells "screw this" and leaves thinking it was sold out. 1 minute later the manager announces that everyone in the room will be getting a wii.
    I feel bad for his kid. what an idiot.

    The manager is the idiot....he screwed that guy, no way you wait in line with only 14 pre orders available and you are number 15...that is just stupid.

    that's the thing though, he didn't ASK anyone, he just overheard that from someone and left without asking for any official word.
    he screwed himself in the end.

    more amusement:
    several of the guys in line for the wii also bought ps3s...they allowed for 8 of their 16 ps3s to be preordered, and EVERY person bought the 600 dollar version. what are the odds that all of those ps3's will be 60gb version as opposed to 20s? slim to none. what are the odds that 8 out of those 16 are? better...but still not very good. someone is going to get screwed out of a ps3.

    also, I can't wait to see the people camping outside of best buy 24 hours ahead of time for ps3 launch day...going to be hilarious.

    I think to pull a ps3 from best buy you are gonna have to be one of the extremists that stays at least a good 12 hours+ so basically get there as it closes, then wait until it opens the next day. bonkers.
