Your recollection sounds better than mine. I think Clutch pulled the "Clutchcity will be no more" for a while when he/we went from clutchcity to clutchfans.
Weren't you detlef schrempf, or some variation? That was less than 10 years ago. #213, signing in. EDIT: Det the Threat, that was it. Here's a post from 2000. Check who edited it. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=66860&postcount=4 I love reading through these old threads. SJC, read this one. I called you out back then as well: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=41696&highlight=det+the+threat And for you newbies, this thread was a classic, complete with a Clutch smackdown: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=28590
heh, with my never-ending changing of IRC nicks, thats the only way SJC can tell it is me when he pops into chat...I still to this day call him Det. I have no idea what my original name was here....I'm sure it was something equally as lame as my current one I can assure you...if I had thought of anything to say after the bbs switch, I might have been a double digit one also....I didnt actually decide to post till sometime in 2000
I don't know why you guys revived this thread.. yeah i do.. My 99ers are you with me where you at? In the front, in the back clutchcity.net on attack my 99ers are you with me where you at? Smokin meth hittin newbs on the block with the gats
Yeah - but how many of you were on alt.basketbal.nba.houston.rockets back in 1994??? take that Tinny Man
I didn't have internet access, so this is unfair. I actually was brought here by the first Sports Illustrated article mentioning the site in 2001. I would love to thank that writer for bringing me here.
I came to this site in 96 when it was on a university domain. Back then I was purely an Hakeem-only fan... but this site has helped me evolve into a real Rockets fan.
I have been reading this forum for quite some time now, (2 yearss) and i just wanted to say i think tinmans posts are quite interesting and hilarious..i love the fact that he has a passion for the great rockets such as dream madmax etc Chillcut
There was this guy named Coz who was a Sonics fan and would troll the group in '93 and 94. He disappeared after we won the ring and his team was eliminated by the nuggets I found Clutch Fans in '99 as well on a search engine...I remember the tag line was "Dedicated to the team I love"....but the site was more like a blog. Not much in forums like it is now. Didn't even know you could join. So it took me a few years when the board started taking off and all I finally joined. So I am 2002 I think. Originally. In my first life.
Lou, I have always wanted to ask you about your name....where does it come from? I thought it might have been in tribute to one of my all time favorite Rockets. Sweet Lew Lloyd, but he wore number 32, so what does your nick mean? Thanks, DD
Sweet Lew For Two! Gene Peterson after Lew hit one of those jump shots....I don't know why I put Lou instead of Lew - was a brain fart.
I came to clutchcity.com in 97, but I didnt register to any forum, I only read the news and articles of clutch, I also used a lot of the wallpapers in that section. I also remember the rockets mix, with the Madonna song: I'll remember, I love that mix, its amazing!
I'm so O.G. that I remember when "Marvin's" was the most happening Rockets page on the net - I also remember signing the guestbook at ClutchCity! Anyway, long live ClutchFans! Rockfan 99er
