So the point is there are less racist people than before and any party that panders to them is going lose a lot of national elections. I'm down with that.

Southern Democrats, Right Wing Republicans, and TEA baggers are the same people regardless of how you label them.

 

There are just as many racist liberals as there are conservatives. Racism isn't just a white hates black issue.

 

Considering the history and the fact that whites make up 70% of the country, whites are the majority of consevatism, and considering your own posting history, your post is completely ridiculous.

 

That is completely. false. At least overly, republicans have made it a point time and time again to discriminate against minorities. Maybe not racism, but discrimination. Today's republicans have far more in common with the southern democrats who held the solid south till just about over 80 years ago than the republicans at that time. Those southern democrats showed the same type of attitude towards minorities that todays republicans show, which comes mostly from the southern culture at the time.

 

Even if that were true, only one group's voting is driven by racism and only one party's politicians win elections by appealing to racism.

You can't be racist if you're a minority. Everyone knows that.

 

Are there some? Sure. Just as many? What?

 

White immigrants became segregationists; and for different reasons altogether, affluent (non-black) minorities and affluent, evangelical blacks could just as easily become Republicans.

 

I think what most people who make this type of statement don't get is that it doesn't matter. Whether minorities are just as racist as the majority is irrelevant because they aren't, collectively, in a position to affect policy based on their racist views.

What you think, what you feel, or what you say may make waves in the media...but what you do (or can do) - that changes lives.

Maybe if Democrats didn't engage in so much White bashing, the GOP wouldn't have such an easy time getting support from blue collar Whites.
