He is 25. We have the cap room next year. Spend all our draft capital on best players available and try to sign a stud WR and interior OL. Oh and hire a coaching staff.

This makes too much sense so the Texans probably won't do it.

Edit: Nevermind, Ravens are likely to place a franchise tag on him. Which means we would have to trade significant draft capital to acquire him. Texans would be better off using their #1 pick on Bryce Young or CJ Stroud.

Too expensive for a rebuilding team with so many needs. Might as well just draft Anthony Richardson and hire Greg Roman as the associate hc/ oc (cause DeMeco will be hc/dc)

QBs like Lamar don’t win super bowls

He can’t throw outside the hash marks

I wouldn't wish this on Lamar.. Too good of a person and role model to warrant being in this sewage..

Yeah best for both parties to refuse each other because in no way should this “sewage” franchise invest 250/300 million “guaranteed” to an injury prone QB who just depends on his scrambling ability to be successful and who can’t throw the ball outside the hash marks and who has a fumbling problem especially in the most crucial moments ( besides Davis mills ) hard pass.

Yet dude still managed to win MVP and led his team to a very good win % with limited offensive weapons in his short career...He should ask for 500 mil just for taking Cal's phone call

And yet he still hasn’t had a deep playoff run
And while limited weapons he still had/has

    Top 5 rushing attack
    Top 3/5 TE
    Top 10 defense

And still not sure he can read NFL defenses even at this stage of his career

Seemed he read it pretty when Hollywood Brown and some decent possession receivers at his disposal that 1 magical year... Top 3/5 defense, a top 3 TE, and a Top 10 defense will get you exactly where it's gotten them for any QB.. You need dynamic receivers in today's NFL.. The Ravens built that team around his strength and its run its course.. Now they need to get him a couple playmakers at the WR position to see if he's the guy.. Tag him this year, trade with a team or trade up in the draft for a
" AJ Brown type" and see if it gets you to a chip.. If not, I'd have to agree with you and let him go after next year..

I understand doubting Jackson as a passer but he has a great arm. He doesn't throw much because they don't have to. He hasn't put up big numbers but he had a 113 rating tied for 1st with Mahommes when he won mvp. He isn't in Mahommes class as a passer but you have to respect that rating and if he did it one year he isn't limited by arm strength. He can get much better

But I agree that no way it's happening and I agree that Texans need to draft someone. They need to build the entire roster

Look how many games Lamar had missed the past 2 seasons. He is already starting to break down. Plus, he cannot throw the ball outside the hash marks.

And then the Texans hired their wide receiver coach to be our head coach.. just laughable…

I didn’t think of the franchise tag. If they use it never mind. Just wait until next year to try and draft or sign a QB, but use this draft to build the trenches on both side of the ball and get a good HC and Coordinators. Bryce is not worth the 1st pick in the draft. If a QB you really like is available at Cleveland’s pick then ok, but I am not impressed with any of the QB’s other than Bryce and he is too small. Unfortunately, if you can’t get a stud FA qb we will be tanking another year.
