Why is the nfl players union so weak?

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying MLB is to that level....but far more so than the NBA with respect to why fans care. i THINK (could just be my perception) there is greater assocation with franchises in MLB among fans than there is among NBA fans. i don't perceive a lot of, "he's my favorite player, so no matter where he gets traded, that's the team i'll root for" sorta deal in MLB like I do with the NBA.

I think the NBA is more star drive than baseball sure.

That's the case in every other profession though. Investment firms make a lot of money off traders, but they can be fired any time, for example. Pro-sports is one of the few places where you are guaranteed pay for extended periods even if you suck. Injuries are different, but guaranteed long-term contracts let people just not work hard and get paid, if they so choose.

Really? I don't detect many switching allegiance fans here and we are on an NBA board, other than the YOFs who are more of a special case.
