I think its more about Aaron Brooks being better than Rafer Alston. Saves cap space too. Lowry is young and cheap. Our shooting percentage should go way up with McGrady and Alston gone.

Kyle lowry is a backup pg for the Grizz.

Kyle shoots 4% better from the field overall, oh and his FT% is about 2% higher. That's all.

    Kyle Lowry

    Went to Harvard University.

Played for the Blazers last year and went to the All-Star game voted in by the fans.

Save cap space? If we're getting Cook too then it's not a saving.

Chris Mortensen reported 8 toes, so I think you're right.

when Rafer plays zero minutes, Rockets are 5:1. Lowry will make Rafer play zero minutes here, that is a plus.

Lowry can create for himself. His FTA=3.3 in 21 minutes, which is good for a bench player.

Rafer can not create anything for anyone, his FG% is 37%, FTA=2.3 in 33 minutes, it is terrible in this era of NBA.

Well I would hope a preseason game would not be the deciding factor in trading for a player.

Another midget, 6', 175 pounds. Unless they bring in another player, the Rockets will have two of the smallest PG's in the league.

Why is he better? Well, if your a numbers guy like Morey, let's look at Hollinger's PER rating system.

According to the stats, even in limited minutes:

Ranked 24th out of all Point Guards
    Kyle Lowry, MEM 49 21.9 .412 .801 .540 29.7 13.2 18.3 1.4 11.5 6.3 14.40

Ranked 38th out of all Point Guards
    Rafer Alston, HOU 48 33.1 .370 .789 .484 28.2 9.6 18.9 1.9 8.5 5.3 12.88

    And to compare...
Ranked 35th out of all Point Guards
    Aaron Brooks, HOU 52 22.7 .402 .883 .520 18.9 10.2 21.7 2.1 8.2 5.2 12.98

Although this is just one view, it still shows that given his minutes, he's more productive. So, let's see what happens.
