If Keenum had been named starter at the beginning of the season, you can take it to the bank that the Texans would be not be 2-5.
Maybe there are fans who don't want Keenum given his chance, because they are afraid he's good enough to keep the Texans from drafting their favorite college QB? Rest easy, because the Texans should use a 1st or 2nd round pick on a QB no matter how good Keenum is the rest of the season.
And then what do we do with Keenum? Make him backup? What if some team wants him? Does he have the choice to leave the Texans?
I think you start Keenum. The only rookie mistake I saw him make was the miss TD pass to Hopkins. If he throws that as back shoulder pass to Hopkins, not only does Hopkins catch it, it also prevents the DB from making a play on the ball. From how quick that ball came out, that's what I think they were shooting for just that the pass was off target. We win the game if we score that TD.
No, you make training camp an open competition and make either your rookie or Keenum (probably the rookie) your backup. Always have a good QB waiting in the wings, especially if your starter is undersized.
Uncle Bob praises Keenum's first performance. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/21/texans-owner-impressed-by-case-keenums-play/ I guess that settles that.
Oh I don't know... The QB who got us blown out by one of the worst NFC teams at home? Or the QB who almost led us to victory against the last undefeated team at their house that is also a notoriously difficult place to play? Any Schaub supporters are just trolling at this point.
This x10000. This isn't even discussion worthy. It's possible Kubiak won't start Schaub...but there's no question that Keenum should be starting at this point.
go ahead and add "without their starting TE and starting RB" to that third line. if you're still supporting schaub i look forward to you being a fan of another team next year.
Obviously, Keenum won us all over yesterday. The bigger question is do we still draft a QB? I say we go tackle in the first. TE/ILB in the second and look to get a decent prospect in the third. Cut the dead weight and sign a difference maker or two.
He went into Arrowhead, and put our team in a position to win, and he did not embarrass himself. Yes a couple of sacks he ran into, but everyone should be completely impressed with how this kid played on a big time stage. The way he played yesterday, could be translated to how he would play in other rowdy stadiums: ie. Seattle In his first ever NFL game, the stage and moment wasnt too big for him. And he didnt let the fact that his starting RB wasnt playing, and that his OLine allowed him to get crushed in the 4th quarter against the NFL's best defense. If Keenum isnt starting against Luck, I will be at the stadium chanting: " We want Case, during the first offensive snap"
Right now this team has bigger issues that QB play. Infact, this team surprisingly lacks a lot of talent... ILB, OLB, Right Tackle/Guard, DT/NT, Safety Our defensive draft was terrible...
Presuming that Mercilus does not turn into a pro-bowl caliber LB... the last TWO drafts have been terrible.

Yup. Now, to be fair, he's going to "evaluate the whole team, including QB"... blah blah blah. The same garbage he said on the Monday after the San Francisco debacle, and look where we ended up two days later.
