I personally enjoyed the rep system primarily because the better poster you are the more rep you get to give. I also enjoyed writing messages to people who you rep. It was nice. The rep system was more unique and fun than the generic like system that we have now.

I was slanging a Yao Ming light green peen before the switch and was on my way to the Moses Malone peen. Oh well.... These newer posters will never know the struggle of getting rep and slanging that Hakeem peen around. All the OG posters with Hakeem dangalang look all civilian now with a terrible post to likes ratio. .

@DaDakota misses it. And @moestavern left the forum because it went away and that's all he had going for him in life. Lulzt

Rep was legit, you could re-rep constantly and required a sincere effort on part of the repper as opposed to hitting like left and right like you’re playing duck duck goose.

Haha, yeah, but half the folks were putting their initials, monikers next to it.

Yes. It should be the way it was.

You'd instantly know when a thread was started by a trash member.

Green squares was much better than a number of likes.

I honestly can’t remember what my peen name was. I never got to Hakeem status but my peen bar was just as long...

I don’t miss the rep bar, it was more clique oriented! The people with longer peens had more rep power than people with tiny peens and therefore would be much more selective on who they would rep ( hence the cliques). Now everyone’s likes have the same weight including the 99er clique. @tinman...;)

Honestly both the rep/like systems are flawed, their both supposed to encourage and reward good posters, but in reality the cliques are immortal and continue reward trashy posters (including myself). To make it legit, the likes should be done anonymously and there should be some sort of limit set for the amount of likes that you can give to a poster in a giving period of time...but I digress!!

(P.S.) I think I remember my peen status now...I think it was “Sitting Bernie with Mittons”...o_O
