Tim duncan appears to be close to the end of his career. Can the same be said for yao ming given that he will be out of nba basketball for a year when the 2010-2011 season starts?

Why is this even a thread?

You haven't even seen Yao play after this surgery.

    /thread.

I think you should start at least one more Yao Ming thread. Why stop at two in a row? :p

It all depends on how Yao's foot surgery works out

ppl argue all the time about yao's potential for returning. does anyone give a thought to the possibility that he will not return to form.

*Everybody assumes he has the work-ethic to rehab.
*Everybody assumes that he will have the heart to win when he returns.
*Everybody assumes that he will have the lighting quick agility or somewhere close to what he had when he returns.

Judging by the fact that he is heavily involved with a chinese team overseas and operating a chinese team over-seas I begin to realistically consider the possibility that he will not have the heart to return, work ethic and quite possibly he will not have the lighting quick agility that he once had.

Bill Cartwright used to get mad at his teammates for missing free throws.. so with that said, I would have to say Robert Parish

We have no idea how he will play when he comes back. I can think of 17 million reasons why he will have the desire to play next season.

I wonder how many more years yao has left on his contract.

I think if he is slow to return and does not show heart and desire then yao should be used as trade bait. He should not be given a free pass "to develop" if he is slow to returning to full form next season.

    for next season fall 2010

*i'm palcing a 50/50 chance that the draft pick we get will only be nbdl worthy.

*i'm placing a 50/50 chance that yao's minutes will be limited untill like christmas which means he will not be an allstar.

*I'm placing a 50/50 chance that he will shut it down as pressure builds heading towards the 2011 allstar break

*I'm placing a 50/50 chance that he will not be able to do the run and gun style of play.

*i'm placing a 50/50 chance that my thread will not get any love on cf LOL

I would but you summed it up so accurately, anything else might be excessive.
