Okay, we struck out on big free agent trades. Who are the offseason free agent targets for our capspace? Eric Gordon? Deron Williams (fat chance)? Omer Asik? Who else? I love our team of scrappy dos, but when do we get a star and/or a young center? Can Martin's expiring be traded for an overpaid stud?

    Gordon and Asik maybe?

Tim Duncan?...I don't know, but it ought to be fun to see who the Rockets target.

The same thing we do every year, Pinkie. We try to move up in the draft.

When was the last time we moved up say even close to Top 5, or even Top 10?
    mind you.

Not since I can remember, but then again, we never had a top 10 draft pick or this many assets to offer, and top lottery teams don't usually have this many terrible contracts (Blatche, Okafor).

Hope the Knicks bad luck holds out!

If we miss the playoffs, don't we get three first round picks?

Only if DAL is outside the top 20 picks... or if we somehow got the LAL unprotected pick instead. Still not clear on that last point.

Sa part is, as Rockets fans, these threads are all we got. I know some people will say we have the playoffs to look forward to but when you know they have no chance to really compete its easier to dream of "what ifs".

Throw a max contract at Brook Lopez and make NJ match.

Follow up with resigning Lee and nabbing Asik/Wallace

This. Paying Brook Lopez the max could be a franchise-crushing type of bad decision.
