This is something I noticed a few times during summer league. He's very good going at his man to get to the basket. He's good at defending the ball and also quite good at anticipating rotation and steal opportunities. He's well aware of what's in front of him.

But he seems to have a lot of trouble seeing cuts in the corners of his vision, and he has to turn his head to find a teammate before he'll pass. And at least once, when he didn't turn his head, he threw the ball to where a referee was standing, not a teammate.

I wonder how much of his difficulty with passing the ball is because of limited peripheral vision, as opposed to selfishness.

Just putting this out there as a theory. Would be interested to hear what others think or have seen.

Good observations (on your part, I mean, not on Cam's). On the one hand, you have to hope experience will help. He was a very young college player who didn't get that many games, and now he's made a huge jump to a level where everyone is larger and faster and your peripheral vision is more cluttered with mayhem.

But, as they say, you can't really learn things like court vision. People have it or they do not. Will be interesting to watch, especially with actual coaching now in the org.

How many prospects enter the league with perfect vision or at least beyond decent vision......

Cam really should try to work on his Passing, Cross Court Pass, Pick and Roll Pass and Lateral Defense.

Has to play smarter. He's really young so that should come. If he develops better shot selection and decides to move the ball, he'll absolutely be a steal.

This was his biggest critique in the pre-draft process. Once the guy makes his move his chance of passing has always been near zero. Personally I don't think it's just a vision thing but also he's not really that comfortable with his dribbling. Hopefully he grows more with experience but probably will never be a great playmaker (still can be a star without the skill like Jaylen Brown though).
