I've the rumor that McClain will sell the team to the owner of Landry's restaurant chain. Can anybody confirm or give me update on this?
Drayton's goal was to see the allstar game come to Houston and he wants to be here for that as it would be played here under his time. Look for him to sell next off season.
That's a rumor, for after the ASG. Fertitta could have owned the Rox. He owned the option. If he were to actually enter the transaction then does he have to sell his minority holding in Rox? What kind of owner would he make?
It would change one thing, when Fertitta spends what the Astros can afford (like Drayton does now), people can't say "But he's a billionaire, he should sell off other assets and spend more money on payroll".
When will people learn how to spell names correctly? He was on 610 last Wednesday and said he has no plans to sell the team anytime in the near future.
Speaking of, when the NFL ran an ad in the Arizona Republic thanking the Cardinals and Bill Bidwill for hosting the Chargers game during the SoCal fires, they misspelled Bidwill's name in the ad. So, it isn't just us. Plus, McLane is something of a funny spelling. But think how bad we'll screw up Fertitta if he did some day buy the team.
With this group of posters, Fertitta will be a breeze. It reminds me of the scene in Night Shift when Michael Keaton diagrams the word prostitute. You can appeal to the males on the board by just reminding them that it's: Fer - with an 'e' tit - no explanation needed ta - without 'and' between the t and a
Thats all talk, just like he said he had no plans on trading Billy right? Man hes a 100% A$$ hole i hope he sells and leaves houston

The last nine or so posts in this thread are great, xiki and Rocketman95 going at it and ima_drummer2k going attacking himself! Back to selling the team, new blood probably won't change payroll spending at all. The Astros are a mid-market team, plain and simple. Until the Astros/Rockets network is created, payroll will never go up - and even then it probably won't change.
