Hah, I have hated his game for years, hated that we were getting him, understood at such a low rate, why not...but figured this would happen.

    Good Riddance.

I've wanted Melo since last summer before OKC got him but my condition was only if he comes here drama-free. That's no longer the case so he can kick rocks.

It really is, if any athletes read these forums, no one would ever want to play for us again. I dont blame them, all these reactionary posts are so dumb.

Melo is no different from players like Lin or Rafer

If you start throwing bricks at the basket on a consistent basis

    the fans won't be happy

It's a bit different tho . I feel people may not have liked Lin or racer because they thought the were bad players .

I think people are pissed at Melo because he's putting himself above the team .

Lin signed here , had a decent year as a starter , got beat out next year , and was willing to come off the bench with no problem.

Melo signed here (we thought ) to be a role player ... and the second it looks like someone is outplaying him , he starts missing games due to illness .

Lin may not have been a very good player , but you couldn't knock his effort or his character as a teammate ..... and that is back before the rockets were contending as seriously as they are (should be ) now ... it's more understandable to put yourself first when the team doesn't have as high a ceiling.

The Lin backlash was more complex than bricks. His decision making was suspect and his fit was not there. When you couple that with LOFs screaming about how Lin was the next coming of MJ it made the experience unbearable.

Rafer was fun... until it wasn't.

Fan is short for Fanatic - personally as long as he wears the colors I will cheer for him, but I know and knew that he was/is a cancer and more than likely this would happen.

I hoped to be wrong, sometimes it sucks when you are right.

This is one of those times.

    Dude

All these dudes are bad players.
At some point in their careers they were good.

The tension occurs when the stats and game results show they are clearly bad. And the delusional non team fans think they are good.

There's a good clue on when you suck,

YOUR GM TRIES TO GET RID OF YOU

Players can suck and not engender hatred/dislike from the fans .

Rafer and Lin didn't have thisndecline you speak of .... they simply had flaws in their game that they couldn't overcome . Refer didn't get any worse from 07-08 to 08-09 ... we just liked brooks and his fit better .

Lin has managed to stay in the NBA 5 years after we got rid of him .

With Melo his "suckyness" comes from a decline and also refusal to change role . No one would hate Melo if he was content to come off the bench when asked and sit and be a good teammate whenever else .

Hey dude, I've been a fan since 1986. I think I know what sucky players are

Rafer couldn't shoot, Lin couldn't shoot, and Melo has lost his shot

I understand what is going on with Melo.

Lin has been traded left and right and we had to give the Lakers a draft pick just to get rid of him.

Lin is also helping Atlanta get Zion Williamson.

I dont believe getting on this board and ragging on, belittling and hoping for his departure is "cheering for him"

For example starting an 'Appreciation thread' for somebody as if they are departed - while they are still on the team is a totally classless move.

Now if you believe 'cheering for him' during a game - only to turn around and behave in this fashion afterward is still considered 'being a fan'... I call it being a hypocrite.

Shame on people that dont have more class than this, regarding a guy who is on the team they profess to love... smh...

PS: Were not talking constructive criticism here... we're talking classless bile being spewed...

@tinman ... and you consider such actions to be 'pure'... smh...
