I have a modest office. By modest, I mean tiny. Basically a closet. I just got a new desk. With that comes personalizing my room more. Curious to hear what your set up is like. Anycool gadgets? Are you rocking a sweet desk? Cool wall art? I'd love to hear it. Desk I got is called a ZipDesk, by the way. It's discontinued, so it's on sale. Made in America. 10 year warranty. Comes 95% assembled. Ordered this morning and will be here Saturday.
Desk is the Fully Jarvis. It's good, would recommend. I keep it in standing position 99% of the time. 2 blah monitors on long arms so they're eye level while I'm standing. I use a vertical mouse as well because of lingering shoulder issues. The keyboard I use is some POS I got a decade ago.
Fully was my second choice. Went with ZipDesk due to being on sale and made in America. I do like the idea of a vertical mouse, and I need to get my monitors on arms rather than on stands.
@Ziggy Home office has LG ultra wide monitor and an LG 2K 120hz monitor . MacBook and HP notebooks and hardon Kardon Bluetooth speakers . Microsoft ergonomic keyboard and mouse
I'm not about SPECS. I'm about STYLE. I have a STANDING WALL desk (similar to below). I didn't want an obnoxiously oversized workstation. I still go into the office mostly. 8-lite iron double doors like below (in production waiting to be installed). Walnut slat accent wall like below. You could argue it'd go out of style but I like it + acoustic benefits. Opted for a smaller monitor - 27in Sony Inzone M9 2022 i9 XPS with 32MB ram. Opted to NOT get OLED or UHD touch screen on it because I don't think it makes sense (in 2022 tech standards) on a laptop. I have the SONOS ROAM in the office - clutch call. I still need to paint and replace the ceiling fan. What I DON'T have is a good chair. The problem with office/computer/gaming chairs is that they're ****ing ugly. Cool chairs hurt my neck/back after about 45min. Open to suggestions.
Desk setup is pretty much this. Ikea Tabletop + Cabinets One side is for me and other is for my wife. But since she doesn't WFH anymore I may do one side 'work' and one side gaming pc to declutter my side. For work I plug my work laptop into my monitor with USB-c and use a laptop stand.
Four uplift desks, two of which with Pro Display XDR, two with Studio display Four Herman Miller Aeron chairs Walkolution Kybun Treadmill with integrated desk Two Intension Design tripod standing desks for additional flexibility to work on the patio or elsewhere Etc. (Peloton laptop tray, Super Novo massage chair next to which the tripod desks can be placed, additional LG 5k curved display in the garage, bunch of macbooks, ipads, Apple TV to stream to the 6 TVs, etc.) No excuse to not get work done and Spoiler to not post incessantly on the BBS
Ikea stuff is underrated for office furniture. I love Ikea hacks. I've got a bunch of Ikea stuff in my geek room including those drawers on the ends of that desk (except mine are the dark color).
I prefer functionality over style. This is the desk I bought from Amazon last year: Spoiler I have 2 large monitors on the top shelf along with a fan and a Bose bluetooth speaker that I use for meetings. I use my open laptop as a 3rd monitor. I have my modem and one of my routers behind my laptop so I can plug directly into it instead of messing with wi-fi. Printer on the right bottom shelf and a little file holder on the left one. I keep my piano, bass, and guitar on my right so I can noodle around during the really boring meetings that I don't have to use my camera for. This is all right in front of my study windows which face the front of the house so I can keep an eye on my street while I work - you know...in case anything happens!
Where can I get a super cheap ergonomic keyboard? It doesn't have to be wireless. Mine is just a standard issue from my company.
