I can't think of any movie themes right now, but I remember really liking the theme to the TV show The Fall Guy.

Favorite (unusual choice) movie theme: Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves

more popular favorites: Star Wars and Mission Impossible (both the original TV theme and the Adam Clayton/ Larry Mullen version... but NOT the (Limp Bizkit?) thing they put on the second movie)

Just about anything John Williams does.

I've always really liked the theme from Independence Day as well.

    Here's an odd choice.

I like the music on JFK (Oliver Stoned version). The opening has some great percussion.

Too cool! I'm listening to that right now!

I don't know if I have one favorite theme, but at the top of my list are The Land Before Time, Jurassic Park, Glory, Dragon: Bruce Lee Story, and Dragonheart.

Honorable mentions to Roll Tide, Speed, Rudy, Back to the Future, and Schindler's List.

And The Suite from X:2 is a pretty good new theme-

Ah, hell, I love 'em all. :)

    American Beauty

The score was written by Thomas Newman. He's done a ton of great themes including Six Feet Under, Shawshank Redemption and Pay it Forward (which is now used in tv ads).

    Here's his impressive list: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002353/

Has anyone seen Dominc Chianese, Uncle Junior from the Sopranos, selling his CD on some cheesy commerical. He's singing these old Italian songs, including the theme from The Godfather. He isn't half bad.

Here are some good soundtracks to buy (besides the really obvious soundtrack stuff that everyone knows about, like Star Wars, LOTR, Harry Potter, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, everything by John Williams, etc.):

    Cutthroat Island - John Debney
    Backdraft - Hans Zimmer
    Gladiator - Hans Zimmer
The Lion King - Hans Zimmer
    Independence Day - David Arnold
    Stargate - David Arnold
    Dragonheart - Randy Edelman
    Batman - Danny Elfman
Dances With Wolves - John Barry
    Hook - John Williams
    Braveheart - James Horner
    Apollo 13 - James Horner
    Titanic - James Horner
    Willow - James Horner
    Atlantis - James Newton Howard
    Dinosaur - James Newton Howard
    The Mummy - Jerry Goldsmith
The Mummy Returns - Alan Silvestri
Back to the Future (theme) - Alan Silvestri
    The Abyss - Alan Silvestri
Air Force One - Jerry Goldsmith (too short, though)
The Phantom - (forgot who the score was by)

That's just off the top of my head. I know I'm missing some good ones.

For some reason I like that little theme that the Harry Potter movies have.
