What would it take to support Mastodon or other Twitter replacement media links?

    Only the worst people in the world use fringe BS like Mastodon, Tribel, Gab, or Truth Social. There's absolutely no reason to go out of the way to acknowledge those kinds of people. Let the extremists stay in their echo chambers out of sight of normal people.

    There is a non-zero chance that Twitter will not be here in a year. Something will fill the void, be it Mastodon or some other Twitter knockoff.

    I have no dog in this fight.

    There's a considerably greater chance that the extremist platforms like Tribel, Mastodon, Gab, and Truth Social will all be gone and Twitter will still be going strong.

    The people who are upset at Twitter right now aren't the kinds of people that matter. They'll head to fringe platforms for a bit, then return when they realize no one followed them.

    Included in the people upset with Twitter are their landlords who currently are not getting paid.

    I would not bet against Musk getting Twitter sorted out … but … it is not a forgone conclusion.

    The Twitter competitors are a motley bunch with no clear favorite, it appears. The competitors probably are also challenged to find a sustainable business model.

    Like I said, I have no dog in this fight.

    I don't either really, but from what I've seen, all of the competitors are echo chambers for extremists.

    If a legitimate alternative pops up, we'll see but any of them would face an uphill battle especially if they dont provide anything of value Twitter doesn't provide.... and an ideological echo chamber isn't a thing of value IMO.

    But, back to the OP question, can posters paste in tweets from Twitter substitutes? I haven't seen anyone try it, but it seems that it should be possible anyway.
