I think Foster is ready to go, last year he was didnt play much, first because the previous season, he had 351 rushes, so his body was tired, and then, when the season was already lost, they decided to shut him down to be ready for this season. I think if Cushing is healthy all year and Clowney lives to the hype, the defense will lead the team to 8 or 9 wins this season if Fitz doesnt make too many mistakes.
16 wins in the regular season + 3 in the playoffs and Super Bowl, I think 19-0. He doesn't have to. The Defense will carry us to 11 or more wins.
After letting myself get hyped up last year and then getting kicked in the balls, I see no reason to be optimistic this year. I'm fully prepared for the Texans to be winless going into December.
Fitzpatrick is the QB. They are capped at 8 wins for that reason alone, IMO, with the likely outcome being 6-10 or 7-9. Anything less would be a disappointment.
No matter how many times I hear this argument, it'll never make any sense at all to me. The Texans have a really really easy schedule and football isn't a one on one game between QB's. The Jets won 11 games and went to back to back AFC Championship games with Mark Sanchez at QB, the Titans had a 10-6 season with Vince Young starting 15 games, the Chiefs won 11 games with Alex Smith, the Vikings won 10 games with Christian Ponder. I could keep going on forever with this. Easy schedule + really weak division + talented roster = a legitimate chance at 9 or 10 wins and the division crown.
Like you I am an optimist but I'll take Alex Smith over Ryan Fitzpatrick any day. I want to believe we can take Redskins game 1 at home, but Skins have an established coaching regime and that will be tough to beat straight up. The only thing we have going for us in that game is our D will likely be better than theirs and OB's tactics are a wildcard. We shall soon see.
improbable not impossible Fritz is better than Carr but not as good as Schuab at his best BO'B should be better than Kubes and THE OTHER GUY [Capers] I am interested in Dre in the Slot . . . Rocket River
I've been going back watching Penn State games over the summer (as much as I could find)... And O'Brien LOVESSSS his #1 receiver. I'm expecting a huge year for AJ.
All you aware of who our QB is? The most important position in the NFL? Ten years of mediocrity? Never successful as a starter. On multiple teams. Why will he suddenly be effective?
I'll say 9-7, but really nothing would surprise me at this point. If Cushing and Clowney are both healthy, there's no reason our defense can't be superb.
Has Fitz ever had a more talented roster around him though? Has Fitz ever had a legit running game? Of course, what I am saying are huge ifs, but IF Foster can get back to being elite, IF our defense is as legit as it can be, then I don't see why Fitz can't game manage himself to 10 wins. Like I said, HUGE IFs. Chances are Cush goes down, Clowney isn't that good, Arian is done etc.
Bills - suck, and best WR was stevie Johnson, no OL Titans - have sucked since they became a franchise (still sour about that) no receivers, no OL both teams have bad coaches. AND....... im grasping at straws of optimism here, just let me dream and believe in BOB.
That was a different NFL, unless your QB is good or has a great post season you have no chance. People will point to Russell Wilson and how his team won just because of defense and running game. He still had over a 100 qbr. People probably forgot he has a post season game last year where he almost threw for 400 yards and was the main reasons they were in that game.
