Cleaning up the language, this would be a great site for the Obama campaign to duplicate and promote. It's so easy for people to share and spread.
Unemployment rate when Obama took office: 7.8% Current unemployment rate: 8.3% Unemployment up only 6% after Republican administration destroys economy. If that's all you have, then you don't have much. Data: US Dept of Labor Just to compare: Unemployment rate when Bush took office: 4.2% Unemployment rate when Bush left office 7.8% (increase of 85%)
42 consecutive months of an unemployment rate above 8.0%, But at least he stopped the rise of the oceans and healed the planet.
The Executive Branch does not make law. Why doesn't the Republican House care about jobs? Oh yeah, their benefactors are making money hand over fist.
Yes, the Obama campaign should replicate and promote this. Almost everything on the website is new spending or regulation, and yet Obama is trying to run against claims that he's massively expanded spending and regulations.
Here is the Unemployment increase/decrease from the 1st full month of each President's term to July of their 4th year (plus is bad, minus is good): Reagan 1: +0.1% Reagan 2: -1.8% HW Bush 1: +2.5% Clinton 1: -1.6% Clinton 2: -1.2% W Bush 1: +1.3% W Bush 2: +0.4% Obama 1: zero increase or decrease in UE So, in order of best to worst: 1. Reagan 2 2. Clinton 1 3. Clinton 2 4. Obama 1 5. Reagan 1 6. W Bush 2 7. W Bush 1 8. HW Bush 1 Stats don't lie. Republicans and Democrats both have reason to champion their side based on this.
Yeah, people are clearly against things like this: * Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, restoring basic protections against pay discrimination for women and other workers * Provided travel expenses to families of fallen soldiers to be on hand when the body arrives at Dover AFB * Reversed the policy of barring media coverage during the return of fallen soldiers to Dover Air Force Base * Launched recovery.gov to track spending from the Recovery Act, providing transparency and allowing the public to report fraud, waste, or abuse * Provided the Department of Veterans Affairs with more than $1.4 billion to improve services to America's Veterans * Issued executive order to repeal Bush era restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research * Signed the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act, the first piece of comprehensive legislation aimed at improving the lives of Americans living with paralysis and on and on. All very expensive, unpopular ideas.
You know, it's hilarious how these people who have no idea of how unemployment increase/decrease works spout off their nonsense to make it look as if Obama is worse than every other President. It's like hiring a manager for the Houston Astros on August 31, 2012 and then firing him at the end of the year for not making the playoffs. Newsflash: UE has decreased in more months during his presidency (34) than it has increased (11). If you choose to complain that Obama has "kept" unemployment above 8%, then are you willing to do the same about Ronald Reagan? Because in President Reagan's 1st term, UE was much higher- actually peaked at 10.8%- and that was at the end of his 2nd year. Obama's was 8 months into his 1 year- which, if you're being honest with yourself, you know that it does take some time for policies to take effect. I would rather give Reagan and Obama credit for their contributions to a 2-percent drop in UE, which is significant. However, if you Cons/Pubs choose to denigrate Obama over this, you must do the same with Reagan. WHAT YOU CANNOT HAVE IS AN INDICTMENT OF OBAMA AND A COMMENDATION FOR REAGAN. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS, unless you lack integrity and honesty. So, what's it gonna be. Thumbs up for both or thumbs down for both??????
People suddenly have no problem with spending and regulation when they see that it benefits them directly (particularly when it benefits their wallet). The Republicans have let every person in this country know that Obama is spending their tax dollars. Demonstrating what those tax dollars are buying them is a great strategy.
keep humping the "spending" chicken. Obama has the lowest rate of federal growth since 1980, and here's the data since 2000. (CBO, not some liberal fantasy data.)
