That's a legit move--defenders are not set so they are called for fouls. I love his footwork the most, whether it's for the doorstep or the step back. Oddly he's not been doing both as much. I don't like his pounding the ball at the top of the key. He needs to make quick decisions because he's icing his own teammates. He needs to communicate what play he wants to run.
I'm going to expand this a little more, because I just mentioned players. We love to hate every coach we have ever had, our GMs, our training staff, and especially the owners.

Didn't you hear? Harden doesn't show up in the playoffs, he is nothing more than a flopper and we can't win with him
What has annoyed me about that is that Harden has great vision, if we had some sort of screen action when he does that, he'll find the open man. We're just so static on offense, often for no reason
My favorite is when he gets to the paint and nails the pull up or attacks the rim. He would be insanely great in a Popovich type of system.
In my opinon, Harden is a genious basketball player. He is doing and inventing different moves that no other players have done. Its so unique that even other players, officials or even the league are prepared for. The thing that amazes me is that Harden keeps on moving forward regardless what the media says. Ever year, he is one step better. I hope he gets a ring or two in his career.. we should be lucky to witness his greatness as basketball fans. One of a kind...
