I don't get that feeling. Even if they end up being the worst team in the league(doubtful), the odds are against them winning the #1 overall which means they are likely to have no first rounder. And any team that gets the #1 will not trade it to West after all the hype Lebron is getting.
If they have the worst record they have the best odds of anyone to win it. I dunno if they'll have the worst record but all you need is to be in that bottom 3 or so. Having an interim coach probably isn't going to change a whole lot this season. We'll see!
It's true that they'd be the team with the highest odds of winning it, but it'd still only be a 30-35% chance of winning the number one, which means a 65-70% chance of being bumped down. Just look at the recent draft lottos, the worst team does not usually end up with the #1 overall. I still can't see them being worse than Denver, Cleveland or even Miami, but like you said, we'll see.
Perhaps West is so high on Lebron James that even a 10-15% better chance of getting him is worth tanking the season and the possible embarrassment of having to surrender a #2 or #3 overall pick.
