All aside (I paid some BS fees earlier this year really due to their inefficient and failed process with outdated credit cards and vehicle switch), if tolls are now privatized, why are we putting people in jail for violations? It's awfully close to usury and debtor's prison.
I thought you can not get your license plate renewed until the fine is payed. Just curious how long did it take to get the letter with the fine from the time they said it happened?
They're suckers. Did it say they wanted you for their army or whatever? I can picture you giving a damn. You probably said "never!"
We used to have a highway system in Texas that was the envy of most of the world, with little or no tolls. Ticks me off that it's a shadow of what it once was (in my opinion) and we are constantly running into toll roads. In Austin, there's a little stretch of toll road here, and a little stretch of toll road there. Ridiculous.
I can have it waived. Please post your license plate # and a copy of your drivers license. just happy to help a fellow clutchfan.
Every new freeway in Texas is a toll road, from Houston to DFW, to Austin, to San Antonio. Majority of US cities, you pay tolls for only tunnels and bridges. But that's understandable since these things require a lot of maintenance. Expressways / bypasses (similar to Hardy and West Park Tollway) are becoming a major revenue streams for counties and states. But the fact that in TX every new freeway requires a toll just straight up amazes me.
Here is a land that never gave a damn about a brother like me and myself because they never did. I wasn't with it, but just that very minute, it occurred to me the suckers had authority.
PAY THAT ISH RIGHT NOW. I used to do Casework for a member of the Tx Legislature. Besides child support issues, it was the number one issue I dealt with -- people who didn't pay small violations that ballooned into hundreds or thousands of dollars. I'm not kidding, I had a guy who had a $20,000 tab because of all the fines and fees, not to mention they can freeze your registration and license renewals now. If it's a mistake and you want to fight it, you're going to struggle against these companies. Call your legislator, speak to their caseworker, and get them to contact on your behalf. You'll get a lot further. But don't ignore it. Whatever you do, do-not-ignore it.
I worked at a vehicle leasing company 2005 The company got those tickets I seem to remember them jumping from 17 to begin to $51 Love the Public Enemy reference
