Mine would be the little known Vietnam POW movie "Rescue Dawn," that is based on a true story. I believe that Christian Bale and Steve Zahn could have both won Oscars that year for their roles, and neither were even nominated.

The trailer for Rescue Dawn can be found here. And apparently the entire movie is on YouTube (for the time being at least).

    Rochelle, Rochelle

"A young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk."

There was a Broadway musical adaptation, but it's starring Bette Midler and she's such a phony.

Recent movies? The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It was surprisingly good.

Older movies? This is Spinal Tap

Classics? Too many to name all of them. Some would be Miracle of Morgan's Creek, A Face in the Crowd, A Letter to Three Wives, Never Say Goodbye, The Man Who Came to Dinner

I don't think it is must-see for the entertainment fact, but for the extremely powerful roles.

Lucky Number Slevin. Not a complete unknown, but I had never heard of it before watching it on DVD.

The Rules of Attraction. One of my favorite movies of ALL TIME. Starring Dawson straight off the creek.
