well what we've gotten out of it was houston's best run and production since the championship days. I'm all for improving but not even sure this is the way
Maybe they aren't the answer.....but we know Mike isn't. It's insane to keep him on board. At this point, I'd rather hire an unknown and go with that than continue to watch Mike be oblivious to obvious coaching adjustments.
When your team is capped out you don't have many other options. Toronto essentially faced the same decision with Casey. They sent him packing, picked up Nurse and now look at them.....a good chance of coming out of the East (obviously Kawhi plays a huge part in that but their system just looks sharper.)
toronto's wasn't even coaching. it was about upgrading to a true elite player like kawhi. derozan never had a playoff run like kawhi, nor is he capable of it. guys like that are the difference in ceiling's Their other star lowry is still the same ole lowry in the playoffs. coaching didn't fix that
The rise of Pascal Siakim also helped Toronto. That may or may not be related to coaching, but Pascal wasn't doing any of this under Casey. Sometimes coaches getting fired puts a fire under players. Ownership has to send a message that failure isn't going to be tolerated. Mike failed miserably in this series. Tilman needs to can him.
he's a 3rd year player. of course there's gonna be ups and downs with him. he's probably going to get fired cause i do agree someone's gotta be the scapegoat for what just happened. not expecting the team to be any different as long as it remains the same though
Mike needs to go bro....we had enough talent to at least take this series to 7. His failure is unacceptable. He clearly hasn't done a good enough job defining roles for our role players. Green's shot selection killed us and that doesn't generally happen under a strong coach.
Of course not. But when your leader is inept, your team usually fails. When is the last time a team with an inept coach has won a title?
I figured that would be the response. Lue's in series adjustments were superior to D'Antoni. At least he actually played Shumpert when it mattered.
Lue is a complete idiot. he wasn't even the coach. Lebron clearly was that's your angle shumpert? did mda not play shumpert who absolutely contributed to the rockets wins
if I'm Harden, I find a way to work through double-teams. having all-defensive team come at you, it's not easy, but when they double on the high pick, you have to find a way to force these teams to compensate for the two defenders on you, not just find a way to pass to the wing after losing the dribble. that means he needs a mean hesitation move, or a very agile cross-over. i honestly thought if you receive the pass, hold the ball until the pick comes by, you have a better chance of getting out of the double, but that hasn't been the case -- GSW just fronts Capela on the high pick and doubles Harden, cutting off passing lanes. if we're not trading Capela, or replacing MDA, Harden is the one who needs to figure out a way to take over at that point.
It is surprising that he's better than the "offensive genius" Mike D'Antoni. We knew he could coach defense, but the offensive struggles, lol smh. Another reason to fire him.
not really. every coach has their strengths and weaknesses. again there's nothing surprising about lebron being a great coach when he's one of the best to ever play this game this is so comical that, if the rockets fire mda and hire lue that would just about be as funny as when the rockets signed melo expecting him to be the missing piece.
You can’t really work on “heart” and “hustle” ♂️ .... other than those two, I’m sure he will find a way to edit some of his moves
