I would only give Benedict Harden a 2 year deal, or he can stay his ass in Philly

Playing with Embid is doubling his assists.

he was also averaging 10 apg with that bum squad before he got traded to Brooklyn…he even averaged 11 apg last year in BK while washed in the games KD didn’t play, and there was of course no Kyrie either

he averaged almost 10 apg this season in the games without Embiid

people just say anything on here…they won’t even bother to do research

Not sure Harden would get than many assists with our current crew
We don't have Embiid, Durant, or Kyrie

That goes with KPj potential assists stat which was 10+....teammates have to convert their
attempts. This is why I have us trading for Claxton, Cam Johnson and signing
Torrey Craig (39% from 3) to go along Harden.

Sengun gets that done (trade)......sometimes you have to break a few eggs
    to make an omelette.

Bkl: Christopher, Cam Thomas, Bridges, Tate or Royce O'Neal, Sengun

Hou: Harden, Green, Cam Johnson, Jabari, Claxton (or Wemby?)

I get the surround Harden with shooters and like the Harden lineup you put together, but I think you can get the shooters without giving up on Sengun. We have a substantial amount of draft capital that I would expend instead. We also have plenty of cap room. Say we get Harden, and our draft pick this year is not top 3. Don’t you think we could haggle our way into a Cam Johnson or like with that pick as bait? The one thing we don’t need for sure is another 2 or 3 year project or all the mediocre draft picks you are going to get with a non-tanking Nets squad. You got a break some eggs, but it shouldn’t be any of our top 3 youngsters. I also think Jabari will become the knock down shooter we thought we were getting.

Well we have $60M to deal with and I have Harden opting out of his player
option with Philly. Making Harden an unrestricted free agent.

Philly has paid Haden $33M and now $35.6M the past two years.
I have Harden accepting a descending contract of $38M year one.
    Descending each year from there.

So if Harden is getting $38M of that $60M. You have $22M to deal with
as a remainder. New TV contract will escalate salaries more than you think.
Brunson $27M was in anticipation of higher wages. Most free agents coming
out are scrubs and will be demanding $20M. Name me a free agent and I'll tell
you how much he will be asking for?

I have us going after Torrey Craig age 32, shoots 39% (3P%), good defender,
plays multiple positions of 3 & 4 or possibly 2 if injuries occur.

Craig made $5M this season with the Suns......I have us paying
him $10M. It will be like with most FA's, a bidding war. Craig
is an UFA that will probably leave the Suns because they are
called out at $160M next season.....but other teams will
want good help on the cheap.

That's the beauty of my roster update: players playing multiple positions.
Harden, Jalen Green, KPj, Torrey Craig, Cam Johnson, Jabari, Tari. Claxton
    ------------------
Problem is we can't bring in 5 guys while keeping everyone.
I'm using Sengun to help move Christopher and Tate.
Two players that are probably not in our future because
    of lack of 3P shooting.

Bulls wanted two first round picks for Caruso at the deadline. He was a backup.
Brooklyn wanted 4 first round picks for Bridges at the trade deadline
Boston will want more than what the Nets wanted for Bridges x J Brown.

Not to mention Boston is capped out while he currently makes $30M.....
he knows Houston has $60M and is seeing a big payday after his
one year rental. Brown is probably going to seek $48 million then.

We are probably going to see the Steph Curry's and Durant making $60M
per year. Depends on tenure is my understanding.

I have us drafting 7'4" Zach Edey to give us what Sengun gave us.
Less passer but better rim protector. Edey is good around the rim
for post ups with good lob catching hands for lob threats.

Here is Zach Edey.....no need for all those pump fakes by Sengun....just a force
    near the rim.

The only hole in my roster is defensive PG but all free agent PG
either have terrible DRtg or will cost too much as vets.
Jevon Carter may be the only one with decent DRtg and 3P%.
He has to decline his player option though. And we would
only have about $12M to spend. Problem is someone handcuffed
    me with TyTy.

All reasonable. I think you can move Tate, KJM, KPJ easily enough without having to give up Sengun in the process. In your scenario, you are getting Craig as a FA. There is nothing stopping that. I don’t want Claxton over Sengun, so that only leaves Cam Johnson. We should be able to get him or another sharpshooter with a combo of our pretty good role players and draft picks or even with cap space. I’d like to pick up EDey if available as the backup to Sengun. Just don’t see why we can’t accomplish what you want to do without downgrading Sengun to an EDey or Claxton. We could also very well be in a position to get Jarace Walker in this year’s draft if we miss out on the top 2. He can guard 3-5 and has a good outside shot.

As far as what Chicago wanted for Caruso and Brooklyn for Bridges, they didn’t get what they wanted. Teams will always ask for the moon if they think teams are desperate, especially at the deadline. It won’t take 2 first rounders for Caruso or Conley in my opinion. If we sign Harden we won’t need another vet PG anyway. A guard rotation of Harden, KPJ, and Green would be great. I do think my dream of Bridges is not very likely.

It’s just my opinion. I’d rather pay Van Vleet 18 million less until his his age 33 year than Harden to 37 18 mil more.

Harden will be worse next year. By year two he will likely be injured or quite a bit worse. Year 3 and 4 he will be huge negative. By year 4 Van Vleet he should at least still be a viable back up.

So call me a dumb a**. Mark my words though if it happens by year 2 all you will hear on here is complaining about an old unathletic turnstile on defense that already can’t finish at the rim this year.

If VanVleet opts out, it is to get 33mill starting salary (ie, the max for him). I don't think he comes at a discount of 18million to Harden.

You're probably right in that he is significantly cheaper. A Harden max is 47mill - whether or not it takes all 47mill to get him is another question?
