We need one more wing defender

Not enough rotation spots.

 

Allen's too old and too bad offensively. I'm good with our wing defense depth.

Oliver could be that guy.

 

We need a backup PG.

Why would he sign here for the minimum to be the 10th man in the rotation?

 

Pass. He used to be a great defender and could probably still be a pest for 10-15 a game, but I'd rather have Affalo who has skills on both ends and is younger.

 

One PG defender who can shoot respectably, and get us a couple of assists.

I realize some of these guys will be playing minutes at the 4 spot, but I hardly think a wing defender is a position of need for this team??

 

Agree with this 100%. I like Tony Allen A LOT but he was a guy who was borderline unplayable in certain situations because of his weak offense game in his prime. He is now well past his prime and his usefulness as a wing defender is severely crippled by his age/size. He might be a nice bottom of the roster spot for a team who needs vets and depth at the wing defender, but those are two things Houston is fairly stocked at.

Considering the substantial heat now emanating from LeBron to Houston, which is only a few degrees Kelvin Cato from imminence.....we don't need no stinking wing defense, LeBron can handle it.

That's 13. For now, I'd be surprised if they don't keep Troy Williams and they definitely need one more guard but should be a point, so yeah Isaiah Taylor will make it 15.

Of course if a trade goes down, I could totally see us dumping Onuaku.

Edit: I don't love the fact that we don't have a single natural Power Forward (Zhou Qi, but he hasn't played a game yet). I know the game has changed and all but I would have liked to have one on the roster; he wasn't great and often used as a Center but last year at least Montrezz could play the inside Power Forward game

You forgot Taylor, Oliver and Uthoff. Oh yeah, and all the other NGs. IMO Chinanu is gone.

 

Tony Allen is 35 years old. With both Mbah a Moute and Ariza, Rockets don't need him except as maybe a practice player.

He also can't hit open 3s and would kill the offense.

 

I have the solution to all your problems Zoplicone. Right after we get Melo for Ryno and expirings.(hopefully) We bring back J-Smoove and resurrect the Band of Brothers with Bobby Brown, Carmelo Anthony, and Josh Smith.
