Agreed as well, it has to be dealt with in a certain fashion. I’d be fine with just getting a large TPE back to use later should a trade arise.

Problem 1: Offense revolves around 1 player to create fascinating regular season stats. That same player keeps quitting when we need him the most. Solution, create an offense where we don't rely on 1 player. Problem 2: the GM is stat dependant and stubborn. Keeps thinking all we need is a stretch 4. Solution, fire his ass.
What exactly do you think there is to discuss? He was very good in year 1, but then he got injured. He's not as good as we hoped he would be at this point in the contract, and everyone knows it. He is declining faster than expected, and everyone knows it. He is not playing up to his contract, and everyone knows it. He is one of the worst contracts in the NBA. It's kind of a dead end discussion wise, I don't think there's much to say.
Lol Cp3 is not going anywhere. We signed him to the deal so blame Morey. Have to improve this roster by making minor moves. We lost to the Warriors but who else didn’t when they were healthy. Pump the brakes and take a breath .
I agree with everything u said but cmon man stop giving capela a pass for his bad play vs the warriors time and time again.
Funny how CP was all giddy after last season. But now he can't stand Harden pounding the ball. Harden never changed from last year to this year, guess who started sucking
Wow. Never realised Chris Paul was overpaid. Thank goodness for this thread - really enlightening. Thanks.....
Remember when people on here were insisting that overpaying CP3 was fine.. because we were just re-signing him with 'over the cap money'... It was going to be a big luxury tax bill, but we were going 'all in'.... meanwhile guys like PBev, Harrell and Lou were 'roleplayers' who were a dime a dozen - easily replaceable... lol
Those guys are easily replaceable if you have the money. Even without money we basically replaced them. Rivers provided more overall that PBev and Faried and Harrell are interchangable.
Everyone knows CP3 is overpaid based on his current production level. There is little to nothing you can do about it without getting worse. If you trade him away for bad players on bad contracts that doesn’t help. Keeping him makes the most sense because he is still a good PG. So how do you get better then? You don’t trade Harden. That leaves you looking at the rest of the roster to see how trading them can help you improve. Or you walk it back again with a few minor player tweaks and hopefully a new and improved defense which doesn’t force Capela to guard PGs on the 3 point line. Personally, I don’t think we will see fireworks, have our pick of the free agents, or any other BS the front office is selling. I think we will walk it back again with our 20 seconds or more offense, 100 percent reliance on Harden to do everything, and hope CP3 is a little better now that his hamstrings are fully healed. Now that GS is dead, it might work.
I literally have not seen one person who has tried to mask the problem that is Chris Paul on this forum. Was this thread necessary?
Steph Curry salary is 245 million in 9 years, Average 27 million a year, has 73 wins and 3 rings, Paul is not comparable. According to my co-worker, Chris Paul is worth 20 million a year. He is not worth the 2nd Highest Salary in the NBA this year and next... Morey gave Paul a raise at 46.91%. (raise from his highest salary year with Clippers) My boss gave me a raise at 2% last year.
Morey must've not gotten the memo, he already put us in cap hell by committing to CP3 until Harden's prime is gone. Just think about it this way.. how are other teams constantly able to get 3 all-stars on the same team? Philly, Lakers, Warriors. Solving the money issue is the real way to win an NBA title. Everything else comes second. Philly did it by drafting then trading for an All-star. The latter two did it by managing their finances properly. Morey failed at that by maxing CP3 who should be paid at the most a role players salary for his performance this year. Capela is overpaid as well but not as much. Now we're truly screwed because the only to get another star now is to move Capela, EG and Tucker, gutting our depth and Tucker seems to be best friends with Harden so that'll mess up our chemistry (or maybe not if we win, ie Lowry/DeMar).
Comparable to Cousins 5 million salary. Demarcus Cousins averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds (in 25.7 minutes) over 30 games for the Warriors this season, after a 12-month layoff to rehab his Achilles.
