I tuned in just in time to see Utah steamroll OKC to end the half. It makes me laugh to see Rubio being so aggressive on offense. In today's NBA, "traditional" or "pure" PGs are of limited value.
if we face Utah in the 2nd round, I almost want to go down there for game 3 or game 4 just to experience that type of crowd energy a black guy with Rockets gear on will stick out like crazy
i think they've been of limited value for going on 20 years. it was amazing how many people even 10 or 15 years ago would complain about various pg's not being "true" pg's and hoping they would change as if that's what was winning titles. the only true pg's i can think of winning a title in the last 25 years are avery johnson and rondo, and both were at best their team's 4th best player, meaning their "true pg"-ness wasn't exactly the reason their team's were winning. every other pg was a scoring pg or a 3&D guy. and yeah, in today's game not being able to shoot or score as a pg is definitely going to hurt with no illegal D.
good thing donovan mitchell took that "euro" foul to stop the fastbreak. always good when you can help your star get to 4 fouls with 6 to go in the 3rd quarter. and if utah does it all the time, then mitchell's decision to let brewer get ahead of him for a breakaway foul looks even stupider because they presumably practice it enough to not do it.
Russ has like zero touch and absolutely no finesse to his game Joe Ingles is that role player everyone wishes was on their team
felton-abrines-brewer-grant-adams to end the quarter for the thunder no melo-george-russ. donovan is out of his mind
