I see you've read yours. Though I did elect to quote from King James instead of something like the NIV so it'd be easier to spot.

The strategy is emergency borrowing for once in a lifetime event that keep on occurring. Or maybe we could build a hurricane proof wall.

OP, here is an example of politics having a real impact on communities with regard to stronger storms.

NC Law May Well Escalate Storm Damages

Have friends working alternately in policy and as scientists in NC, of various political stripes, and they were all shaking their heads when this anti-science BS came through the uber-right-wing NC legislature a few years ago. It was such a stunt, but it has real consequences for planning in low-lying communities. Sea levels are rising, and established science says they will rise some more. It's one thing to fight over the cause of changes, but it's a whole different thing to outlaw proper planning to minimize suffering and damages. (Sorry, could not work 45 into this post. LOL :p )

We need more scientists, doctors, teachers and other professions in elected positions. As it is, they are almost all polisci majors that are lawyers or businessmen.

The VAST majority of people are not represented politically... that includes the farmer from Illinois, the preacher from Ohio and the inner city physician from Detroit and the chemist from Sacramento.

We are all to blame for these catastrophically powerful storms and wildfires.

Climate deniers are to blame for the devastation that will happen in 20 years.

    Why are republicans always crying?

DEMOCRATS ARE TO BLAME FOR MOLLY'S DEATH!

DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING TO BLAME GLOBAL WARMING FOR HURRICANES!

WHY ARE DEMOCRATS COMPLAINING ABOUT MOVING MONEY FROM FEMA TO ICE?

WHY ARE DEMOCRATS CRITICIZING OUR POLICIES TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS?

DEMOCRATS ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH AND EVERYTHING BAD IS THERE FAULT!!!

Not only not learning from the past, but creating an all new version of the recent past. Not just incompetent, but worse, truly despicable...

Title should be “Washington Post admits that Trump is God.”

Very sad the president of the United States is actually denying the deaths of 3,000 Americans. I don't know why there isn't anger over that.

How low do you have to go on the humanity scale to attempt to make a political football out of the deaths of thousands, just as many more Americans are facing down another hurricane.

... and this is the reality... trump's offensive statements (tweets) require republican leadership into the position of supporting the statement or trying to deflect it away...
