This is a very complete team, but nobody is perfect. List what you think their weaknesses are, and how we can exploit them. Here's mine: They are not an "above the rim" team. When we are defending around the rim, DO NOT JUMP. We need to use our length around the basket to contest and keep our feet grounded to keep us in the play.
It seems that much of their paint offense comes from secondary opportunities, easy pass-offs, etc. Go over EVERY pick and force them to drive/shoot the midrange J. They are inexperienced especially compared to much of our squad. Take advantage of this by getting into their head (ball denial, foul trouble, etc.) Remember, even Kerr is a rookie and he led all HC in techs in the reg season.
LOL. Hasn't this team been healthy all season long? Wouldn't mind the BB god spreading their share of agony.
Building on your post, Harden needs to attack and NOT look for the foul call. I read some comments by the Warriors players saying they are disciplining themselves to keep their hands up and not reach in. Harden is a great finisher. If he sets the tone with some tough layups, he should earn the refs respect for the rest of the game
1. Rebounding. Dwight worked Jordan, he should murder the Warrios. 2. Fouls. Watching Warrios previous series they really really pack the paint and hack. They are very busy with their hands in the lane. They get away with ALOT but they also get caught now and then. We have to be aggressive and look for contact, don't stop attacking if you don't get the early calls.
Regular season. Playoff Dwight will dominate Bogut in the paint. Bogut is good, but he aren't DeAndre Jordan. Green is too small to defend inside, and he obviously has no post game. Josh Smith will have a field day running 4-5 P&R. Warrior front court simply does not play above the rim. Expect to see some Dunkathons in this series, just as in Dallas series.
1. Win the rebounding battle. For all the advanced statistics we like using, this is such a good indication of us winning a game. When we outrebound a team, we generally win. 2. Attack the aggressively in the paint. Bogut is solid positionally, but he's not the shotblocker Jordan is. The Rockets learned to adjust to avoid Jordan, similarly we can adjust to attack Bogut. 3. Take advantage of their relative inexperience. Of our main 8 rotation guys, 5 have experience playing in the Finals (by my count), Prigs has played in big games, Josh Smith is balling, Jones is the one without experience. That Warriors roster doesn't have the same experience, hopefully that counts for something. They don't have many weaknesses, it's gonna take some inspired performances for us to win games.
It's funny, almost every proposed concept calls for the Rockets to concede something to the Warriors.... Yet it isn't a weakness we're baiting them into settling for, it's just another aspect of basketball they're good at.
As a team, they have 3 total conference finals appearances (Barbosa w/ PHX in '05, '06, '10) & 0 NBA finals appearances.
