Those are not sovereign nations, they can’t declare those things and if it’s secret then it loses the deterrent effect. I’m sure they would have just purchased them by now if it were in their hands.

What was anyone able to do to stop the North Koreans? You swallow the sanctions for a while and resume development when the job is done.

Even if it’s not possible, then why play with fire? In that case, I don’t understand why they didn’t just go “we don’t even need nuclear energy, we have infinite oil and gas and are going to be the leading investor in solar”.

Do they really truly need nuclear energy?

It’s all really fishy to me tbh.

A goal post shift from regime change to not tanking the global economy. I can’t take this stupidity anymore.

I wouldn't go as far as "well at least we are not a third world country" - as someone that has lived in a lot of places inside and outside of the USA, I can tell you that Americans are the most pampered people in the Western world, that Americans complain more than any group of people on the planet and that Americans air their dirty laundry more than any nation I have lived in or visited.

The depiction of media concerning the USA, is at best a large scaled characterization of what is actually happening in the USA -- it is for the most part, very similar to how it has been for at least the last 40 years.... for both good and bad.

Many of the complaints about the USA internally when it comes to programs are genuine, but often over blown or more complicated than depicted.

As for the Iraq war, that was boots on the ground in the USA and there was discussions about the number of American soldiers killed. Even then, the discussion was lengthy and only about 4,000 US soldiers died over a nearly two decade period. Any number dead is too many, but that number is low for a nation the size of the USA - especially with how removed the conflict was from the USA.

It won't be going to the streets that will cause change for the USA - it will be shown in elections - primarily, and when Americans show that they will not vote for war mongers.

Exactly - Iran is not "winning the war" in a conventional sense. They have had a lot of damage done to their command and they have had a lot of structural and infrastructural destruction. These are the traditional measures of war, and we are the best in the world at this form or war - and Iran is not exception.

The type of pressure that Iran can exert is the same that the Vietcong could -- we decide it is not worth it.

I find some on the fringes of the left giddy that the USA has supposedly not been effective in war to be strange. I do not support the invasion, but I am an American and do not want to "lose".

The Iranians are staring down regime change - they are very desperate, and nothing they say should be taken at face value.

The USA could turn Iran into a grave yard, but hopefully there isn't the will of the people in the USA to do that - for many different reasons.

And it’s not like Trump has used negotiations as a ploy to assassinate Iranian leaders …

North Korea does not control a significant portion of oil transportation. And Kim Jong Un is not a religious fanatic who is hell bent on eradicating an entire ethnicity. One just wants to maintain control of their country and the other believes in a backwards ass religion.

As much as I would like to agree with you, I can't in the sense of making this sound like a cake walk...

Unfortunately, a lot of people think places like Iraq, Iran, Vietnam, Afghanistan and etc will be easy due to traditional measures of war.. Unfortunately, the enemy does not think, act or care about the traditional measure of war.

Lots of people from the USA and Russia stated this about Afghanistan "They can turn this into a grave yard or send them back to the stone age". I will tell you first hand, don't believe he hype.

I love the movie, but I don’t recommend the last scene of Oppenheimer to anyone looking to protect their sleep or mental health right now lol

I have to fly out of Houston tomorrow. The TSA wait times are currently over 4 hours because of a government shutdown. So we can’t pay government employees but we just started another stupid war that’s costing billions a day and they want Congress to pass billions more in emergency military funding. F@ck off.

    I agree with you.

Dropping bombs, assassinations and destroying the infrastructure is only the first phase of war - and only if you are willing to go close to scorched earth. Once you enter the second phase of war, when boots hit the ground - and public opinion changes when body bags comeback and the "liberated" don't see so happy you killed their family members--- war becomes hell, even for those with superior technology.

    I agree with you here..

Only thing is.. They are so far underground that the bombing may seem huge for us, but its not for them... We as Americans think too much like Hollywood and not reality when it comes to war... Only the expendables can have the enemy with 500 against less than 10 and know one ever dies..

    Reality doesn't work that way...

I'm no military genius, but I think if you start a war and then find yourself trying to negotiate to the status quo ante bellum, you're probably losing the war.

lol, and people wonder why Tilman doesn’t give a damn about the Rockets anymore

the corruption is so brazen now, you’d have to be a fool with principles to not take advantage of these 4 years and enrich yourself like never before

they’re not even trying to hide it…they know there will be no consequences, and their low IQ inbred base will either never hear about this level of insider trading, not understand or be able to comprehend what’s happening, or simply won’t care

dudes out here making millions or billions while MAGAts can’t afford groceries or gas yet still applauding what’s happening like mindless drones
