"WE DO NOT NEED THE HELP OF ANYONE"

Dear Lord. This country is cooked. We will never recover from him and his supporters' delusions in my lifetime.

Malignant narcissist whose brain and body are rotting, desperate to cash in however possible, and keep the public's attention away from past crimes while committing new ones (thanks to the Leonard Leo Social Club, aka, SCOTUS).

And it's the evangelicals who support him the most. (Reminding me that nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus quoted as saying, "Be not a dumbass. Learn!" Or does that sound too much like Yoda? "Learn.....or learn not."

If we never needed their help and Iran is decimated and destroyed, why was he begging for it in the 1st place?

No Navy? No Air Force? No anti-aircraft weaponry? No radar? Regime said there was a 95% reduction in Iranian drone attacks too.

So why was he begging, and why is he crying now?

White House 'unraveling' as Trump realizes he doesn’t 'hold the cards': DC insiders

U.S. President Donald Trump and his cheerleaders, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, insist that the war against Iran is going well. But critics of Operation Epic Fury are warning that Iran's far-right Shiite fundamentalist regime is a much stronger adversary than Trump realizes.

The Atlantic's Jonathan Lemire, during a Tuesday morning, March 17 appearance on MS NOW's "Morning Joe," argued that Iran, its "diminished" capacity, could be even more dangerous — from holding up the flow of oil in the Strait of Hormuz to the possibility of terrorist attacks in the United States. And some Washington insiders interviewed by Politico fear that Trump in way over his head with Iran.

Politico's Megan Messerly, in an article published on March 17, reports, "When the U.S. started firing Tomahawk missiles at Iran late last month, many of President Donald Trump's allies hoped it would be a quick, surgical operation, similar to last year's strike against Iran's nuclear facilities or the ouster of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro in January. Though uneasy, they were reassured by the belief that Trump's open-ended objectives gave him the flexibility to declare victory whenever he saw fit. Now, more than two weeks into the campaign, some of those allies believe the president no longer controls how, or when, the war ends."

Messerly adds, "They fear Iran's attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, which have rattled global crude markets and threaten broader economic distress, are boxing Trump into a situation where escalating the conflict — potentially even putting American boots on the ground — becomes the only way to credibly claim victory."

A Trump White House source, interviewed on condition of anonymity, told Politico that although U.S. forces "kicked (Iran's) a—— in the field," they "hold the cards now."

According to that interviewee, "They decide how long we're involved — and they decide if we put boots on the ground. And it doesn't seem to me that there's a way around that, if we want to save face."

Another anonymously quoted source, described by Messerly as someone "familiar with the U.S. operation in Iran," told Politico, "The terms have changed. The offramps don't work anymore because Iran is driving the asymmetric action…. For the White House, now the only easy day was yesterday. They need to worry about an unraveling."

    Wow.......

He bluntly calls out Israel and the US Israel PAC for the reason that the USA attacked Iran and invaded Iraq.

He flat out said that Israel "manufactured the war with Iraq".

To have someone of Kent's pedigree and importance make sure claims is incredibly damning.

It really looks like Israel is going to become radioactive politically in the not-too-distant future.

    Talk about a political fissure.

The Republicans need to decide what they are going to do with Israel going forward.

Maybe to the broader population, but not where it matters: primary voting and proportional representation.

Evangelicals will never, ever abandon Israel because they need it for their Jesus Return machine. As long as that bloc disproportionately votes in Republican primaries and uniformly backs Republican candidates, their bias toward Israel will always mean that it commands an outsized influence on our politics. Add in the Senate and you've got a recipe for continued blank-check support of Israel no matter what the majority of Americans say.

Trump is either a Russian asset or the most useful idiot in the history of the world. Everything he does benefits Russia. They would pay billions to get the results they are getting with Trump.

Evangelicals and Zionists and those that hate Middle Easterners aren't enough to win elections.

There are a lot of blue-collar and even white-collar Republicans that are Protestant, Catholic and agnostic that won't tolerate where this is headed.

PACs can send huge amounts of money to candidates, but at this point there are enough conservative figures, and even those far right wing that believe in Jewish conspiracy theories - that the Republicans will have to eventually take a stand.

Don't forget boomers: they love WWII history (despite learning few of its lessons) and are massively sympathetic to Israel because of the Holocaust (as they should be!). But, they don't know what modern Israel has become, especially Netanyahu's current coalition. They don't understand that the Netanyahu of 2026 is not the Netanyahu of 2010 by virtue of governing coalition.

This war is turning out to be a complete disaster for the UAE. I heard earlier today the big international airport got hit hard. There was this massive campaign and investment in making this area of the middle east some tourist and business oasis... now you have people fleeing trying to get out of the country as fast as they can, and right now for at least the next 6 months no business is going to open any new locations, book conferences, etc. Not to mention tourism.

Just a massive miscalculation on their part to give any sort of encouragement to Trump, and co. to go do this.

Agree on Boomers - but they are dying at a growing rate.

We are getting into the Gen X and soon Millennials having a say.

That doesn't mean that everything will be great - every generation has issues, everyone now lionizes "The Greatest Generation", but 20-30 years ago, there were a lot of people waiting for them to pass so that some of their controversial views would go with them.
