I'd like to start getting some door hangers and flyers posted, pretty much anywhere in Houston. However, I don't have the time to walk around neighborhoods and pin up flyers at different places around town. How do I go about hiring some people, preferably on a budget to do this?
I'd drop an AD in the Greensheet for the areas you want. This will probably do as much as signs Rocket River I did that once and got some business then word of mouth from there
sounds good. yeah I used to do it and like pin up flyers at UH and HCC, Lonestar. Have a full-time job now and with going to school, time is scarce to do it .I definitely could use the extra money though doing on the side what I do during the day (IT Support also).
Back in the day I did the same BEWARE: People try to get over and have unrealistic expectations. Have you solid explaination of services and setting expectionas You get silly call backs "You connected my printer, now I have a virus." "Every since you worked on my computer, my screen is off center by 2 millimeters" "Since you fixed my computer, my tablet cannot connect to the internet!!!" People want CSI (the TV SHOW) level technology on Al Bundy Budgets "How much to network my whole house including the refrigerator?" "WHAT!! 50$ I might as well call IBM to do it!!!" Rocket River Customer Service is such a hassle. . . . which is why I stopped doing it beyond just friends
I get that at work Rocket River, I'm used to it No but definitely something to consider as well. I've done it more in the past when I didn't work full-time and the customer service part and following up all the time can be a hassle.
I did some a LONG time ago for like 5 seconds, lol. Isn't it expensive to have a mining machine worth a damn?
Market your business toward elderly and technologically illiterate people. Find areas where rich old folk live and hangout. (River Oaks/River Oaks Country Club/random other country clubs). Don't go advertising in universities, Midtown, Downtown, Uptown, and coffee shops. Keep your advertisement very simple, friendly, non judgmental, and polite and don't use many technological terms that will confuse people. Also think of working on retainer or subscription package. Like $250 for 5 hours or unlimited visits, phone calls, or tech support at any time of the day.
Nice. What ever they will pay That is a bit more that I was But that was years ago 80$ WOW! Rocket River
It's a little on the higher end, but I do know shops and such charge $120 + an hour to go make house calls. So I figure if I go under that by a bit, it's worth my while. Won't always get the most residential customers that way, but such is life
Beats doing 2 40$ calls LOL I use to go above and beyond trying to save their sh*t Now . . .. I'm like FORMAT REINSTALL man . . . LMAO Rocket River
