Not really, this one step makes a huge difference, see guys like Iverson, Bosh, T-Mac, Johnson. They make this shot really comfortable, but when they take one step outside they have to set their feet because of the added distance and their shot changes.
I think if you play regularly yourself you know that the difference between a 3pt shot and this kind of shot can be dramatic.
