Dear Clutchfans, There isn't much that I like about DFW (being from Houston), except, my wife (She's from here), my daughter (was born here), my school, and now.......Verizon FiOS Internet and Cable TV!!! I just got it installed a couple of days ago and played around with everything. First the cable tv service is actually pretty good. All of the channels are digital (over 200) including over 20 HD channels (No NBA TV though, crap!), and HD-DVR, I didn't get any premium channels, and they threw in a digital box for the bedroom, for around $50 a month. However, the beast in this thing is the FiOS Internet! Check out these numbers from home. Download:15595 kbps Upload:1852 kbps That's a shade under 2 MegaBytes per second if I'm correct. Talk about raw speed, and the kicker is, for the first year it's $29.99 a month! With this being the 15/2 connection, you can't beat that, unless you want to spend 179.99 a month for 30/5. They are rolling out 50Mbps downloads this quarter month I think, and 100Mbps download sometime soon (I think Dr of Dunk said this in another thread) DFW sucks, but boy is the internetS fast!
Very impressive. That's almost 4x the speed I get from Roadrunner. Wow! When is this coming to Houston?
yeah my verzion speed test: 5190.3Kbits/Sec or 648.8KBytes/Sec thats with me uploading and other tasks while the browser does the test.... dallas still sucks
I envy your Internet speed but you live in Dallas. That's like getting a reach around. You're still taking it in the butt.
I signed up for FiOS when it first rolled out here in Dallas. Don't have any complaints (except I wish I with a wired connection in two rooms)!
I live up here in Denton and boy was I excited seeing Verizon put in fiber on our street months ago. I've been waiting for FTC (fiber to the curb: old talk) since the mid 90's. The first question I asked the salesman was about League Pass. No LP and it didn't sound to promising that they'll get it either. As much as I love fiber, I love my Rockets more. RR
i called them a while back to ask when it was finally going to come here. they told me to check back in 5 years or so
