I was on the 14th floor, signed up for it as a non-smoking, 24-hour quiet floor. The RA said in basically the first week that he wouldn't enforce the quiet rule. That didn't seem like a big deal until I had to start coming out every other night around 2:00 am to ask the white guy across the hall to stop cracking his literal bullwhip for his friends; he would always comply as, demographically speaking, it basically looked like I was begging for my freedom. He was still also more polite and responsive than other drunk, loud dorrmates who would just tell me to "shut the f/ck up." Incidentally I was coming back one night from the 24 hour Social Work computer lab, saw the RA's girlfriend standing outside at the check-in desk trying to get in. She was also the TA in my biology lab, and looked like that girl from the Chemical Brothers video with all the mirrors, so I just vouched for her and they signed her in. The RA kind of raised his eyebrows the next morning when he said he "reallly wanted to thank me" for letting her in, so they clearly hooked up. These are the kinds of memories you make when you're losing every year to the school that still also gets all the good internships. Like if you look at the website for their upcoming career fair, the companies actually list out the specific internship program and position, rather than just the company name and then telling you at the event to just "go on the website" to actually find out about any open positions, while handing you a company-branded koosh ball or some sh*t.
