Just had to make a breakdown because this comment is so wrong. So, there you have it Feel free to watch a game and comment. Stats: Spoiler Good: He was good on a fast-break, although he didn't pass in any of these he showed he can push the pace (4 points on 4 possessions). Nothing else showed up. Bad: Defensively he was liability, he didn't fight throught screens, he can't guard P&R, he doesn't box-out his player, he does absolutely nothing but switching players to run less. Offensively he was stagnant off the ball, not a lot of running, there was couple of really bad passes, I feel like he could've already had back problems... Stats: Spoiler Good: He was beating every single player that guarded him in P&R and off-ball constantly changing speed and moving directions. Really impressive defensive game - had couple of really nice steals, had a block, great court awareness and help defense. Bad: Didn't hit easy shots, had one really poor decision offensively. GAME: Delon Wright guarded Tyus Jones most of the game. On the other hand, Tyus Jones never guarded Delon Wright (maybe several possessions when he was stuck with him on a switch), most of the time on Delon was Quinn Cook or Matt Jones. Full game (didn't found with English smh).
I don't understand why we needed a thread for this. They both played poorly in ONE game.....that doesn't really tell us anything.
The PG from Providence would be my pick. He looks like a poor mans Westbrook with great hops and the ability to crate on his own. I don't see much upside with Jones or Wright. Neither are good 3-point shooters and Jones just is neither strong or athletic.
Tyus Jones is a Jordan Farmar clone. He doesn't play defense at all. Curry will light him up. Delon Wright is the type of guard the Rockets need alongside Harden. Best defensive PG in the Draft, 6'5", long arms, good rebounder and can score better than Patrick and Pablo.
I like Delon too but i wouldn't call him the best defensive PG in the draft. That honor belongs to Terry Rozier. Way too early to say he is a better scorer than Bev. He will be a good NBA caliber PG though.
