Official Teaser The story of the Targaryen civil war that took place about 300 years before events portrayed in "Game of Thrones" based on George R. R. Martin's 2018 novel Fire & Blood.
I sort of forgot this was coming out. I have hopes for it. Different series heads than GoT which ran out of steam when it passed Martin's books.
Man, Game of Thrones burned an entire generation. I have never seen a fandom and hype fall off a cliff so sharply after a series finale. I'm not sure this is going to bring GOT back, but I saw some black people in Westeros for the first time so I'm in.
syfy made NightFlyers based off a one off property from Martin and it was so bad.. HBO cant afford for this to be bad. HBO needs this to be good enough so we forget about the last couple seasons of GOT, lol
I think we should also acknowledge that Martin's books took a pretty steep decline in quality as they went along as well. The story just got too big.
Hmm...hard to say until we get the entire series. Which will probably be finished by Joe Abercrombie after Martin kicks the bucket.
After Season 8 I am done I will have to be 2~3 seasons of people telling me how great it is before I try it Rocket River
Ok through the first episode, it is pretty good as an introduction to the characters, and it fits well into the GOT universe. Gonna keep watching. DD
acting, writing, visuals are better in this than GoT (compare the two tournament scenes for example) so far
Did Lost fall off as hard as GOT? I remember people b****ing about the last season. House of Cards was unwatchable, but that's on Spacey -- the last season with him was pretty bad as well.
Episode one was FIRE (and a lot of blood). A worthy start to this GOT prequel! Spoiler Who else throws an orgy party at the brothel when their aunt and cousin dies? WOW. Or performs a c-section with no anesthesia (milk of the poppy doesn't count) Or cuts off a man's junk in the public square?
Aha, I stand corrected. There’s a first time for everything! Although we must acknowledge the Targaryen family tree is quite the labyrinth. As we just might see later in this series!
I don't think so plus LOST ended right before YouTube and Twitter really kicked off. Even if there was a lot of anger there weren't many places to get you shots off. People still talk about LOST till this day. The finale was divisive but I think everyone knew there was no way there were going to be able to end it with everyone happy. They were making up stuff as early as season 3. plus there was no established books to follow to be angry they were moving away from something. Game of thrones was good until the showrunners rushed to end it and didn't want to give up the show to someone else. GRR said they could have gone on for 10 seasons from the books.
I dont think this was a good start for a casual (like myself) like GOT. Thrones started off with incest and a child thrown from a window. There wasn't much shock in HOT D, in my opinion.
I thought it was a very solid intro/set up episode. Allowed the audience to find their bearing and get to know the main players, pilot episodes can be a little iffy but this one was very polished, looking forward to the rest of the season.....
