From Vox: New polling indicates Republicans actually like Trump more following racist tweet controversy It's like there really are two separate countries that share the same geographical space, and nothing else. I think it's mostly because their media spaces are completely firewalled from each other.
Not really, they have always been there but they are just more emboldened than ever. We will see if this is a winning strategy among the general populace or just alienating the middle of the country.
yet, another roundabout way of admitting that these attacks / spins "go back to the country where you'd came from" and "if you're not happy here in America, leave" did not work ! thank your for providing more eg of the back-pedaling, but i don't need the help
How is this backpedaling? And I wasn't trying to "help" anyone, except to show the leftists here how people could agree with Trump.
As I said, every human being has an opinion. Reporters used to be more professional and objective. You're correct in that choosing which story to cover is itself an opinion/political/personal decision, but that's very different than a journalist wearing his or her politics on their sleeve. It's funny to me that a lot of people on here say "oh it's normal for journalists to wear their opinion on their sleeves" when it's NPR, CBS or NBC. Oh, but those same ones are quick to criticize Fox or Breitbart for having a bias.
Dude, you are being ridiculous. But -- just to placate you (not that it will) -- here you go: NBC https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/house-vote-resolution-condemning-trump-s-racist-comments-n1030266 CBS https://www.cbsnews.com/video/congress-votes-on-resolution-condemning-trumps-racist-tweets/ and more https://www.usatoday.com/story/opin...s-what-makes-america-great-column/1743525001/ https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/17/politics/trump-squad-political-strategy/index.html
Because it's not racist; but the leftists need it to be. This has a lot of truth to it, but it's not true at the same time. We are all in one nation (for the time being). But the two opposed camps don't really live in the same vicinity of each other. (ie, Kansas is not LA)
Hmmm, let's see, the left is a) imposing Obamacare on an unwilling nation, forcing the responsible people to pay for irresponsible people's healthcare b) endorsing Antifa (the real fascists in the USA) c) imposing the Green New Deal on the whole country, which would be ruinous to our economy and society d) making sure that the borders stay open to any and all illegal immigrants d) transferring wealth via taxes from the productive to the unproductive e) imposing the welfare state, which also transfers wealth via taxes from the productive to the unproductive; f) shooting Republican congressmen at baseball games; g) attacking members of the administration and congress in public h) trying to get rid of due process in the name of some ephemeral and non-existent gender equality ………..I could go on.
It's basically irreparable damage to public discourse at this point. The biggest challenge for me is that I do not believe any of this support for the racist comments is a change in public opinion but just pulling people's xenophobia out in the open. America has been xenophobic for almost as long as America has been a country and the gains of the last 70 years in the post war period were probably just an anomaly. http://www.loyno.edu/jsri/sites/loyno.edu.jsri/files/USXenophobiaandRacism-Summer2009jsq.pdf https://www.thoughtco.com/xenophobia-in-the-united-states-721483 https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...23b3ef1a64b_story.html?utm_term=.6a18495da891 https://www.thenation.com/article/can-we-brief-history-american-racism/
She should sue Trump for libel. I know, she's a public figure, actual malice standard. But he is the personification of malice, in thought, word, deed. He is a malignant blight on the soul of a once-proud nation.
Let's go to Mitt Romney- a famous public moralist who promised to stand up to Trump - and see what he has to say about this new development: Thanks mitt
