The Trump Presidency has no sense of self-reflection, everything is denial.

It makes that Trump didn't want to tell the country back in February about how bad COVID-19 really was. For him to admit that his administration and he country was faced with a difficult and attractable problem that couldn't be just be excused as someone else's problem might've shattered the image that Trump has built up and his supporters bought all in to. It would've been an admission of weakness that would be antithetical o what he has been selling.

He was dead serious about testing. He wanted it to end to make the number look better. He doesn't have a clue or a care that that would accelerate cases and death.

He realized that he was going to lose because of Covid and he's right - he likely would have won if he did a decent job with Covid. He got only himself to blame, but of course, he's going to blame everyone else and he sees himself as a victim. Loudest sustained cry-baby in the world.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/31/us/politics/trump-coronavirus.html

“Making masks a culture war issue was the dumbest thing imaginable,” one former senior adviser said.

Mr. Kushner, who along with Hope Hicks, another top adviser, had been trying for months to convince Mr. Trump that masks could be portrayed as the key to regaining freedom to go safely to a restaurant or a sporting event, called embracing mask-wearing a “no-brainer.”

But Mark Meadows, the White House chief of staff — backed up by other aides including Stephen Miller — said the politics for Mr. Trump would be devastating.

That was all Mr. Trump needed to hear. “I’m not doing a mask mandate,” he concluded.

After he recovered from his bout with the virus, some of his top aides, including Mr. Kushner and Jason Miller, a senior campaign strategist, thought the illness offered an opportunity to demonstrate the kind of compassion and resolve about the pandemic’s toll that Mr. Trump had so far failed to show.

When Mr. Trump returned from the hospital, his communications aides, with the help of Ivanka Trump, his daughter, urged him to deliver a national address in which he would say: “I had it. It was tough, it kicked my ass, but we’re going to get through it.”

He refused, choosing instead to address a boisterous campaign rally for himself from the balcony of the White House overlooking the South Lawn.

Alex M. Azar II, the health and human services secretary, briefed the president this fall on a Japanese study documenting the effectiveness of face masks, telling him: “We have the proof. They work.” But the president resisted, criticizing Mr. Kushner for pushing them and again blaming too much testing — an area Mr. Kushner had been helping to oversee — for his problems.

“I’m going to lose,” Mr. Trump told Mr. Kushner during debate preparations. “And it’s going to be your fault, because of the testing.”

    The moral of this story.

A sociopathic narcissist doesn't change, simply because he is the President.

You don’t need any study to realize the following

    1) hospitals wear masks for many years to avoid getting infections

    2) million of Asians wear it during the beginning

This just piss me more off about how politics is used for individual needs/attention.

this idiot is still blaming others for his poor decision.
He should go to prison for making a decision that allowed over 300k citizens die. No different than being a war criminal for making poor decisions which resulted in civilian deaths.

instead he will walk free, enjoy the millions he will make for his talk show, radio, donations, etc.

Our government is broken to allow people at the top to make poor decisions with no liability. There should be consequences to decisions that truly hurt civilians lives. Especially when there is proof of neglect.

trump not only offensively lies about the numbers of COVID-19 deaths (many of which he is responsible for),he also has to show his racist tendencies at the same time. Even his own Surgeon General confirms the numbers of deaths...

Me me me me me. What about me? Why don't I get credit?

Words of a man no riddled with narcissism he can't understand why injecting bleach, and other stupid nonsense ideas like "Masks" are for Democratic leftists made him look like nothing more than a lying, propaganda spurting idiot.

Fauci was an expert long before Trump pretended to be one.

So our numbers are exaggerated because we're not intentionally underreporting? That doesn't sound like exaggerating.

Trump is a lying idiot. He will NEVER admit over 350,000 died because of his no mask, no lockdown, no social distancing, no National response to containing the pandemic.

The only thing exaggerated is anything Trump says to toot his horn.

    This is so bad!

Trump and the GOP led the millions to spread this pandemic to a point that is killing far far far too many people. NONE of these money hungry GOP jerks talk about this!!! It makes me sick.

Trump, Cruz, Paxton, Abbott, Crenshaw, and all the no mask stance loyalists and selfish jerks who cared more about themselves, their money, and their freedom to party and gather at bars and in crowds got us here.
