Probably with tweets at 5am. The "man" is certifiably crazy, in my humble opinion. He seems to be getting worse, and with the departure of Hope Hicks, I'm afraid to guess just how far he's going to lose it. I keep worrying about an attack on North Korea. Our senior diplomat handling negotiations with NK suddenly and unexpectedly resigned a few days ago. Many of you may not have heard, or don't know how important this guy was. His name is Joseph Yun, a deeply experienced career diplomat and no one expected his sudden departure. What I've read in more than one news source is that it was because the administration is giving serious consideration to an attack. The thought is that Mr. Yun took a strong stand against it, pushing for a continued effort at negotiations, and resigned because trump wasn't interested, wasn't listening, and resignation is the act of last resort for a diplomat of integrity. That trump apparently thinks we can hit NK with a limited attack and a full scale war won't erupt. That's how naive trump is. Everyone should be concerned about the possibility. I have two kids of draft age, and if there's a war on the Korean Peninsula, you can bet that the draft will be reinstated. A war there could easily spread and become a regional conflict, or worse. It would be madness to start a war in Korea if there is a possibility of avoiding one with negotiations, and as unlikely as many think of the idea that negotiations will make significant progress, it is worth continuing to try. Our military leadership, pretty much without exception, is ardently against a war there. The casualties on both sides, civilian and military, would be immense, in the high hundreds of thousands. NK has an arsenal of chemical and biological weapons, putting aside the nuclear option, with shells and rockets for those weapons of mass destruction. Seoul, the capital, is within the range of thousands of artillery tubes and rockets and Seoul, with the area surrounding it, holds around 26 million people. The artilley and rockets are hard to destroy because they are in tunnels inside the rugged hills and mountains of the region, so they can be run out, fired, and then pulled back in to reload, largely safe from counter battery fire. I've said this before and it's worth saying again. A time honored way leaders, usually not democratically elected ones (think the Argentine junta and the Falklands), try to improve disastrous public approval is a war. It usually doesn't work out the way they expect in the long run, but the public typically rallies around the government during a war. The Argentine junta was hailed by large public demonstrations when they invaded the Falklands. After the UK humiliated the leadership, which didn't expect them to fight, the public turned against them and they were quickly thrown out.
You don’t see the danger of a man that doesn’t understand ****, like our laws, our norms, and our common basic decency ? No, because you turn a blind eye to them until he betrayed your gun rights? I hope this wake some up on the Right, but as soon as he reversed course, im sure its back to nay. I have said before he was president. Trump isn’t qualified and is a danger to the nation. I take Pence over him any day. (What he stated about mental health is as dangerous)
You're a bit like Sweet Lou and others. I criticize your blind loyalty towards your party and you automatically state my beliefs and positions, even when I have stated the opposite. Unlike you, I can be appreciative when good policy is introduced. Your mentality is why modern politics is in the shitter. You obstruct all policy, good or bad, because your team lost. And if you have bothered to follow the gun debate threads, I have proposed ideas that go completely against what most enthusiasts want.
I'm saying he made a dog's breakfast of the argument, but he's talking about a restraining order as an alternative to a trial. The idea has been around for some time and he was clearly briefed on it. He's just too dumb to articulate it clearly. But the general sentiment is on the right track. Use a TRO style system to quickly get guns out of the hands of crazy people (so many of these cases authorities were warned but couldn't/wouldn't act preemptively). That would be far more effective than blanket policies that make it harder for law abiding citizens to defend themselves.

Naw. I’d rather keep Trump in office but with a Dem House and Senate than give Pence the office to push his hardcore Handmaidens Tale agenda. If Trump broke laws and he has to go so be it, but I think you are wrong if you think the left favors Pence more than they fear Trump with ZERO oversight. And yes the right wingers should feel betrayed and be speechless. For decades they have lived by the mantra that “the left” wants to make the US a dictatorship by coming into your house and taking your guns away. Then to hear their poster boy actually say what he said has to be jaw dropping. But in the end the right is so enamoured with Trumpism now they will say again “what he really meant was X” and the NRA will call him up and put him in line.
I don't have blind loyalty to anything. When you stated that, it's just clear to me that you don't understand. Modern politics is shitty when a group of people is willing to abandon standards, laws, norms and accept horrible behaviors for a head of state. 80% approval rate by "blind loyalist" is much more fitting to be described as blind loyalty to a party (or in this case a person). I mostly understand your gun positions. I wasn't clear, and that's my fault, but my statement is toward the Right in general. Not having due process isn't good policy. It's dangerous. It's more dangerous than do nothing about guns. It's what an authoritarian government is. Next up, bring back those mental institutions and put people in there without due process. Those on the right can start seeing that now when Trump want to take your gun rights away without due process... I would hope.
No, he's not. You saw the same video and read the same quotes everyone else did. @Major and @Space Ghost already called you out on your BS so I won't rehash. It's sad that people can be so blinded by wanting their political party to be right that they make excuses for anything. I bet Commodore also "didn't vote for Trump," but has since tried to explain around every dumb move he's made. And it's not an attribute of one party -- both are guilty. Look at Sweet Lou and others above attacking SG for calling out both sides. I despise our president and the large majority of his actions since becoming president, but I appreciate the stance he took in that meeting. Some people can't accept that Trump might actually be in favor of something they like. Sums up politics in America these days.
While I appreciate the ability to watch the workings of these meetings, it really doesn't help trump at all. Here's the clip where he appears to not know you can purchase AR-15s at stores (not needing to purchase through black market)... and directs Feinstein to work with Manchin and others to come with something "stronger" than weaker including stronger background checks.
If somebody had told you four years ago that your back would hurt so much from carrying water for Donald freaking Trump, of all people, would you have believed them?
@Commodore on last night's game: "Wes Johnson slipped because the floor was slippery and he was actually planning a sophisticated trap-switch move -too bad Austin Rivers let him down and the liberal media started putting out of context clips on twitter."
from a strictly political standpoint this is just stupid. he is never going to win over liberals/democrats and he is going to piss off his base. a lot of them are single issue voters and this is the one thing that could sour them on the donald more than any other thing he could do. it just shows how bad he is at the game of politics. and his flip-flopping shows how shallow his policy positions actually are. by the time he is done dude will have totally isolated himself from everyone and i for one find it absolutely hilarious!
