But don't call it Trump TV Donald Trump’s Campaign Just Launched A Live Nightly News Show Donald Trump’s presidential campaign on Monday began airing a live nightly video news program, fanning speculation that Trump may seek to capitalize on his supporters’ zeal by launching a media network after November’s election. “This is an effort to bring our message directly to you. You don’t have to take it through the media filter and the spin they put on it,” said Cliff Simms, the Trump adviser who co-hosted the program, which was broadcast on Facebook. “We plan to do this each and every night.”
If there was ever any doubt that Trump was playing the republicans like a fiddle this ends the discussion. Trump doesn't want to be the president he wants to increase his family's wealth and influence.
Is that what he quoted me with? But yeah no. Dont F white people. Either minorities are complete morons, or Republicans and even more so the Trump ilk turn a vast majority of them away. Take your pick
Seems like such an incredible waste of money, time, and resources. Who is going to watch this? People already voting for Trump or people who want more ammo to troll Trump supporters with.
Trump will use the network to turn his defeat into a phyrric victory of sorts. He is gonna monetize the ignorance of his followers to carve out a social media space where he can keep selling snake oil. Apparently enough people watch stuff like this to make things like The Blaze profitable. It might be relatively small money compared to what Trump claims he is worth, but he won't pass on a chance to make a buck off those eyeballs.
Trump needs another income source now that his name has negative brand association. I predict that all of his hotels will remove the "Trump" moniker from their names. Nobody wants to stay at a hotel named after Trump. He has ruined his family name forever.
You're probably right. I've always thought he never really wanted to win the nomination, just thought there was a niche he could fill to rile up the angry folks and then turn it into a business deal. I also began to believe he is tossing the election so Hillary can win. It's the only way I could explain how he just SAT there and let Hillary rip him a new a-hole in that last debate without defending himself or calling out her own scandals.
I've been using the following with my teenage son, "Don't make me go trump on your ass." "You've gone full trump, son, never go full trump." "Dude, you got trumped."
Well, Trump is a smart enough guy, but not really smart enough or debate skilled enough to hold his own against the likes of Clinton or Obama (forget personal assessments of both, just look at their histories and training: Ivy trained trail lawyer and University of Chicago lecturer). Both opponents are not just smart and trained in argumentation but also have quick enough wits and pack a bite. And Clinton has dealt with decades of "controversy" both real and imagined. There isn't a punch they can throw at her now that could make her fold or even wince. Not so true for Trump. Clinton was hitting Trump in his sensitive ego parts (especially in saying he may not be as rich as he claims) and he has a long history of losing control when that happens. What he didn't do in that last debate was fly off in a loud rage. He tried to be composed and stately and, I think, in the absence of hurling insults, it makes him in particular look like he just stood there and took it. Trump is a simple creature to understand. From privilege, inherited wealth, and power. Has been given everything and allowed to do whatever he wants his whole life. Dude never admits a real personal flaw or admits or submits to a loss. He has to, in his mind, be dominant. So he will distort truth and lie until he thinks he has convinced enough people that he his still a winner. It is weird. It is insecure. And it isn't something that should hold more power. One thing to be concerned with is if his TV move turns into a real movement. Right now it is a co-opting of white nationalism and GOP rage politics. But, history shows us, these things sometimes metastasize into something few anticipate.
