"No degree. No genuine professional experience. Just a failed music career, a fake TIME Magazine cover and a scam nonprofit." ...hm. ...with credentials like these in an administration like this... ...seems like she's overqualified.
Noted conservative Jonah Goldberg with a biting look at how people align themselves in trump's orbit (colorfully described as "fecal festival")...
That is pretty interesting. I was trying to think about the people who have allied themselves with Trump. Has it made them better as far as personal gain, reputation, positioning for furthering their career in politics in any variety of positions? Roger Stone - Was powerful. He has since lost credibility even in the world where lacking credibility was his trademark. He is going to prison. He is obviously much worse off than he was before aligning himself with Trump. Paul Manafort - see above. Kellyanne Conway - was seen as a decent political handler. She has damaged her reputation so badly that she's a laughing stock almost as famous for lying and ridiculous statements as her boss. Sean Spicer - also a laughing stock, but is somehow more sympathetic. His reputation is damaged but his exposure of which he had little before, has risen. He now has more access to career advancement than he did before. He is probably slightly better off, in part, because he got out early. John Kelly - used to have a good reputation and that was maintained for the first part of his time in the administration. It has since been tarnished and damaged a great deal. He is slightly worse off for having worked with Trump. Gen. Mattis - Slightly better because he maintained his dignity throughout his time in the administration. He is seen as someone who didn't bow down and even more of a straight shooter than before. Steve Bannon - his profile is greatly increased. His role has always been kind of a villain and it still is. He is just a villain with greater exposure. He's probably better off from having served Trump. Mike Pompeo - Was dubious before, but had accomplishments. He was at least in a position to improve his position on his own. Since aligning himself with Trump, he's severely downgraded his credibility and integrity. He is not better off in any way. Rex Tillerson - Already successful. Benefitted from being seen as one of the rational ones in the administration. His battles with Trump helped cement that. Slight hits from being seen kissing up to Trump in meetings where everyone said their required praise. He's probably slightly better off for having worked with Trump. Rick Perry - Was a joke before and is still a joke. He might be slightly better because he's served without drawing too much attention to himself. He's no longer the biggest fool in the room. Stephen Miller - was an evil nobody before. He's now an evil somebody. His evil is more on display than ever so that hurts him. His exposure and power to exercise that evil have helped him. So it would seem like he's gained from having known and worked with Trump. However, should Trump go down, he's finished. So the jury is still out on him gaining or losing from having joined the Trump team. Rudy Giuliani - once seen as a hero. He'd already damaged his own reputation but was still acceptable to people. Since joining the Trump team, he's turned himself into a joke and is widely despised even by many who like Trump. He's absolutely ruined himself by joining Trump. The guy is at best pitied these days. Nikki Haley - Once seen as one of the rational people in Trump's orbit but has damaged her reputation and exposed her ambition with recent Trump ass-kissing. She isn't damaged beyond repair at this time. It could happen if she replaces Pence as VP. Currently she's probably slightly better off than she was but the jury is still out. Many of the other people like Trump's family were always going to rise or fall with him so they don't matter. It is a risky proposition to join Trump's team. A few can gain some benefit from it and many greatly hurt themselves by joining his team.
william barr was seen with some degree of respect when named, but he is perhaps now trump's worst enablers...
There is always fox news and talk radio. I thought the same about william bennett, but talk radio was quick to embrace him.
Right. I just don't see that as an advancement. He can still get a well paying job. But his legal career has suffered.
The woman that lied on her resume (and had a fake cover of her on Time Magazine) resigns, blaming the politics of personal destruction, division with the state department, and the lack of defense from her managers...
Notice how the "party of personal responsibility" never takes responsibility for anything. It's always the Left's fault, the Media's fault, Never Trumpers' fault, etc...
LOL... the trump administration "poor memory" excuse/defense... The DOJ Keeps Having To Clean Up Messes Left By A Former Trump Appointee https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/john-gore-census-voter-fraud-commission
