The billions for missile defense Trump sold to Poland that Obama blocked as a favor to Russia was a great thing. I also want to say 0% chance McCain is writing these tweets.
‘Very stable’ Trump? European leaders beg to differ The president’s wild shifts in tone left many NATO allies concluding no hidden strategy lies behind his unpredictability. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/12/donald-trump-behavior-nato-summit-europe-716035
An out and out lie. Macron of France already said he wasn't paying more. Same for Canada... Macron rejects Trump's claim on NATO defense spending commitments https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/12/politics/trump-nato-spending-claims-reaction-intl/index.html Trudeau insists Canada spending enough on defence, as Trump declares victory at NATO https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-takes-questions-nato-july-1.4743477
NATO is about war. You think any country is goimg to war with Russia any time soon? NATO wasnt formed to stop a guy who wasn't born when ot wsd f formed
Dude, they invaded a sovereign nation that wanted to move westward and join NATO, took control of their territory, shot down a passenger jet and continue to fight a civil war in Ukraine. Russia seeks to destabilize the western alliance in any way it can rather than dismantle its own kleptocracy. NATO members like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania live in fear of Russian invasion. Russia is not a new, friendly country. As always, The Simpsons already did it: https://www.youtube.com/embed/yFNRlvEh7ok
With that kind of logic, then it’s acceptable for Russians to live in fear of another French or German invasion of their country. Yes, Russia must be checked, but how far should should NATO/EU push back on Russia? It seems like Ukraine is Russia’s line in the sand. NATO is still necessary, but NATO expansion at this time is not necessary.
I don't see how Napoleonic or 1930s history is relevant to Russia's actions four years ago. Russia is allowed to consider Ukraine their "line in the sand," but how does that justify invading the sovereignty of a country that, through democratic means, sought to move closer to the EU and NATO?
And NATO didn't do **** not cause it wasn't warranted but because its the Ukraine. Sovereignty or not thats a local dispute. They aren't invading Germany or Norway or Denmark are us etc etc etc anytime soon
The US should invade Crimea and steal that gas, because they can. I’m sure someone in Crimea speaks English.
I was going to let him figure that out all by himself. Germany, Norway, Denmark, Ukraine...one of these things is not like the others.
Uh, no, pgabriel. He invaded Ukraine to steal Crimea. Why? Because Sevastopol, in Crimea, was historically Russia's key naval base on the Black Sea and he wanted it back. Also, Putin isn't a communist. He's an oligarch. The man doesn't give a flying burrito about communism. He wants to make Russia a great power again, like the empire he grew up in. The Soviet Union, which was a Russian empire in everything except the word. Read some history, man.
