First of all I know many of you are going to automatically say HELL NO just because it's the Cowboys. I'm looking for fans that actually want to upgrade their team, and what they think of a trade involving the Cowboys and Texans.

There's no secret that Dallas needs a QB, and there are two stud QB's comming out in this years draft (3 if Manning declares).

The top 5-6 teams in this years draft are (in order) ... 1. Cincy ... 2. Detroit ... 3. Texans ... 4. Chicago ... 5/6. Dallas ... 5/6. Arizona ... Dallas, and Arizona will have to flip a coin to determine who gets the 5th pick.

Cincy is looking like they will take Carson Palmer. Detroit is looking like they will take Charles Rogers of Michigan. Not sure who Texans will take if Rogers is gone. Chicago is in as bad a shape at QB as Dallas. No telling who Arizona likes.

If Dallas was to end up with the 5th pick do you guys think the Texans would be willing to trade the #3 pick to Dallas for the #5 and Dexter Coakley or Dat Nguyen? Dallas will likely have to trade into the top 3 if they want a shot at Leftwich. With Rogers gone, and Roy Williams going back to school the Texans will still likely be able to take the guy they want (Charles Rogers, T. Suggs, or DT from Penn St.) at #5 plus they pick up a Pro Bowl LB'er.

Im not trading down to get either of those players. If I want a veteran, I'd go Free Agent.

Frankly I wouldnt trade down to 5. I would threaten to do it and just trade with Chicago on the condition they draft a QB.

If we could get an extra 4th round pick to trade down 1 spot so Chicago can nab a QB, I'd do it in a heartbeat. We lose nothing.

The problem with trading down to 5 is you won't know who Chicago takes.

    Possibilities*.

I would get Dat Nguyen. I wouldn't trade any draft picks for him, but I would like to get him somehow.

Good point. If Leftwich is gone by the time they pick they are rumored to be interested in Jimmy Kennedy from Penn St.

You wouldn't trade from the #3 spot to the #5 spot, which would also get you Nguyen?

If getting Nguyen and the #5 for the #3 is at all possible, then you gotta take that.

By the way, its unfortunate we even have to have these discussions.

Willis McGahee should be a Houston Texan. :(

That was so bad watching him suffer that injury. Good thing for him he still has 2 years of eligability left so he can rebuild his stock for declaring for the draft.

I might consider it, if you threw in Ken-Yon Rambo & an additional late round pick instead.

Umm the Cowboys would never do a trade like that. The linebackers are the strong suit of the team and they dont take up much cap space.

If there is nobody the Texans are exactly confident in picking, then I'd consider a move for the #5 and either a solid player or an extra pick or two. Not sure how willing the Cowboys would be to give up their 2nd rounder.

I think the Texans need to go after an RB and a WR. Why don't they go after Larry Johnson, Lee Suggs, or Charlie Rogers? Those would be fits on our team!

    Totally agree.

I firmly believe the Boys will stick with Hutchinson for the 1st year under the Tuna to see how he does.

Why the hell would the Texans want Dat Nguyen?

    He's mediocre at best.

Word out of Dallas is that Tuna doesnt really care for Hutch and might go after an established vet like Kurt Warner, who is on his way out of St Louis after the fallout with Mike Martz. Besides, Tuna is old and wont be coaching for long so dont expect them to take a QB to build under Tuna, considering he wont be there for long. The Boys, specifically Jerry Jones and that hideous mask he calls a face, want to win NOW, not build a team and win later. Remember, Jones is impatient. They also believe they have a running back in Troy Hambrick, which is a huge mistake because he is worse than James Allen. So look for them to go with defense on that 5/6 pick. Terrell Suggs or Jimmie Kenedy is the solid bet for you Boyz fans. I think the Texans take the best player that fits them on the board available with the third pick, and that shoulda been my man Willis Mcgahee but he had an unfortunate accident this past weekend. So Terrell Suggs will be the Texans pick at 3. Remember Texans fans, you guys have a defenseive minded GM and coach in Casserly and Capers. So if a good offenseive player that they need, like Charles Rogers WR, isnt on the board, they wont mind at all taking the best pass rusher in the draft, Cuz they know what type of player they are dealing with and what to do with him. Boyz end up with Jimmie Kennedy with there pick. Nuff said.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't he draft Bledsoe in New England?

Oh, forgot one thing!!!! Tha Boyz need an offensive lineman considering there O line sux as bad as the Texans O line. So Jordan Gross OL Utah might also be on JJ and Tuna's mind as well

Yes he did, good observation, but he is 60 now and he wont coach till he is 70. Besides, everywhere he has gone he has always left after 3 or 4 years except when he was with the Giants when he was young and new in the head coaching profession.
